Dr. David Scott Efaw, MD

If you do not have insurance or money forget these folks, they will not work with you, unless you live in McLean county, a fund will pay them for you, but only 1 or 2 teeth. So if you are in pain you will have to suck it up and go a long way to find another oral surgeon. They did not give me time to look at the original bill to understand what they planned. It was suppose to be surgery for all 3 teeth but they just pulled the teeth, then charged me for surgery for at least one tooth they pulled. They did not make clear the procedure. Then while in pain and in compromised emotional anxiety they shove another procedure in front of me and asked me to sign it, saying it was not an agreement, but paper said otherwise. Then once done it was get out of the chair we have another patient. They seem cavalier, calculated and cold in their bedside manner. Though they have you sign a paper that you understand all the side effect and possible damages are not their responsibility, you do not have… time to process all the bad things that may occur. After the fact you realize this procedure is very dangerous and may cause long term effects in you ability to eat or talk. The TMJ was more severe than I thought it would be, the bruising was massive. It has been over a week and a half and the pain for removal is still great. I had teeth cut out before and never suffered this. A dentist would have been better, at least the expense would be more bearable.

Had implant surgery. Dr Efaw and his assistants were professional and caring. Made me feel at ease through the procedure.

Unfortunately, I cannot give a positive review for this experience. We were referred on an emergency basis for what appeared to be a simple problem. After 2 visits with Dr. Efaw, a visit with my regular dentist, and a visit with the endodontist, nothing was done. No one could agree on what needed to be completed first. My wife and I are still confused as to what should happen first. We had two early mornings with no food/water for surgery prep only to have no surgery completed. Dr. Efaw was very unprofessional at our last visit when we tried to get to the bottom of this. He told me he went to school and I didn't and I could do "whatever the 'blank' I wanted to do". Very surprising since he went out of his way to help me get seen by the endodontist on an emergency basis. We won't go back to see him under any circumstance.

I went to Dr Efaw for a second opinion due to a little uneasiness with my first diagnosis. Dr Efaw was extremely polite and knowledgable about my injury. He went out of his way to explain my CT Scan in great detail as he led up to his final conclusion.I'd definitely recommend Dr Efaw if you're ever in doubt from an ENT appt or just top notch service and customer experience.Dr Efaw, if you read these comments, I say thank you sir.

When you ask the office if they take Delta Dental they will tell you yes, but what they do not tell you is that Dr. Efaw is not a perfered providers. Which decreases the amount the insurance company will pay for the services. I also felt like Dr. Efaw was condescending. It was the OVERLY CARING attitude that came off as being very fake.

If I could go somewhere else I would. The insurance was delayed and did not approve my procedure which nobody bothered to check until I was in the chair. That's not my beef. The insurance isn't his fault. Three different women came in and out I do t know their names nobody bothered to introduce themselves. First one says we are doing this. Second one says no we are doing that. No wait so I wait an hour. Finally people come in and say insurance hasn't approved anything. I have been scheduled for a month has nobody even bothered to call me. I had to fight to get time off at work. My sister had to take time off from work. I have seen better customer service at Von Maur when buying a fifty dollar shirt. This office is going to make about 6000 dollars on my procedure and I don't know what's going on and nothing is explained. I'm Terrified of dental procedures and they did nothing to comfort me. I think I will look in another town if I have to. I hate that doctors and dentists take advantage… of people
