Dr. David Alan Shifrin, MD

Very horrible Doctor, what we talked about in our consultation and what I wanted him to do and what he told me he could do. He didn’t do none of it. He did what he wanted to do horrible worst decision I ever made was going with him. Please do your homework on him. Better look at his yelp reviews. He’s not as good as everybody saying he is and I know for a fact by experience, he’s horrible.

google this doctor across multiple platforms and in relation to legal cases. You'll be surprised at what you discover. He's sued "78" others to have negative reviews suppressed. My experience is similar to others: Dr. Shifrin lies to his patients and does some pretty terrible things, then takes no accountability and becomes aggressive and hostile. My RECOMMENDATION for out-of-towners is to go with DR GREGORY WIENER instead of Dr. Shifrin. Dr. Wiener charges 2K less than Dr. Shiffrin for butt implants and 4K less than what Dr. Shiffrin charged me for a combined set of procedures. Dr. Wiener is 5 mins from ORD and Rosemont. It’s a really upscale area, with fine dining and nice hotels. I only received a virtual consult and quotes through Dr. Wiener, so my recommendation is based solely off the highly negative experience I had by electing to go with Dr. Shifrin instead. In fact, I’m probably going to have to pay Dr. Wiener or someone else to correct the twice failed set of… operations performed by Dr. Shifrin.

Shifrin Plastic Surgery is my DEFINATE “go-to” surgical facility, especially being away from home. I can not speak more highly of Dr. Shifrin and his practice, as I am always treated kindly and with a great level of professionalism, besides the clinical practice location being immaculately clean and convenient amongst travel. Dr. Shifrin and his team are incredibly helpful and eager to assist with any of their patients concerns. Dr. Shifin is EXTREMELY skilled in his craft and I trust his expertise at a heightened level – he knows what he knows, which is more than clear through his confident demeanor and character. I am ALWAYS more than satisfied with the results produced. Regarding Dr. Shifrin, there are never any doubts in his work at all. Dr. Shifrin was not my first experience communicating and planning procedures with a plastic surgeon. However, I wish he would have been because I truly feel, in my soul, that if I would have discovered him much sooner, I wouldn’t be writing this… review right now (anyhow, I’m just grateful that I found him). I would like to conclude by stating that I doubt my words can do any justice to this doctor, his abilities, and his lovely staff. Being away from home is never an easy situation, so why not try to be as comfortable as possible somewhere else, perhaps possibly in Chicago?!?... Trust and believe you will feel right at home and safe at Doctor Shifrin Plastic Surgery center, being in such cautious, caring, competent, graceful, remarkable, and downright “magical” hands. Working with Dr Shifrin and his staff has been life changing for me in the best of ways. From the beginning with my very first consult, I was treated with so much care and attention from his front desk staff. Donna is literally an angel on earth who helped guide my medically necessary procedures through the arduous insurance process that I was lucky to be able to have via my supplemental insurance with Starbucks for transgender care. I had full body lipo, butt implants, and a secondary round of lipo for the finishing touches all within a years time. I'm so incredibly happy with my results and truly am so grateful to Dr Shifrin and his staff for helping change my life and help me heal from the crippling gender dysphoria I dealt with daily that now has shifted into self love and living a life worth living. The nurses, medical staff, anesthesiologist, and scheduling coordinator made me feel safe, heard, and treated me with so much compassion, care and dignity through out it all. Donna… has always been available and super kind and patient with me and has always been available post op with aftercre questions and concerns. The procedures themselves were intense but so worth it. I appreciate Dr Shifrin's ability to see your vision and help you achieve it. I'm already considering going back to hopefully move forward with breast augmentation revision from a previous surgeon once my new insurance going through. Did my breast implant 2015.NOT HAPPY with the result. Alot of things to say but i will say one thing for all patients to know is, once you give him money and got your plastic surgery's done he won't care about you at all.he will act like all of the issues and problems after surgery are yours not his.

I had met with Dr. Shifrin for a consultation for a breastlift and liposuction. He has excellent bedside manner and makes you feel at ease right away. He took the time to get to know me and my wants/needs for surgery. The office staff is very accommodating and scheduling appointments was always easy. I am beyond happy with my results. Dr. Shifrin is a very talented Plastic Surgeon. I would recommend him to friends/family and will go to him in the future for any other procedures of needed.

My wife spent much of the savings we had to get work done with Dr.Shifrin and I was happy for her to do it after having children it meant a lot to her to have her breasts lipo and other work done. Although he was much more costly than most of the doctors we interviewed we went with him as a result of the reviews we read. We were very much mistaken. We are average working people that can’t afford to get multiple surgeries which is why We wanted to make sure it got done the best possible the first time around. He did not listen to what she wanted in the least. He and his staff are very uncaring and made her feel so uncomfortable the moment she mentioned anything about being displeased. Your spoken to condescending and made to feel as if there’s something wrong with you. Her check ups were all of 5 minutes without even a proper examination from the actual doctor. Watching what she has been through has been so difficult for me and I know she has every right to feel violated. If… staff would have at least offered to make things right with even just one area we would’ve known at least he is a reasonable man. I’m not sure if they ever expressed to him her thoughts or if they were told to brush her off. We have known many couples that have went through this process with other surgeons with excellent results I don’t know why after spending several thousand dollars would a doctor not want his patients to be happy. There comes a point where it’s not always the patient that’s unrealistic or unreasonable but that not everything is going to turn out as expected. When this happens and it’s not an unreasonable or unrealistic expectation customer service and basic overall experience should still count for something. I really wanted to have a talk with this guy but his candor is very grandiose and would only end up where we are today. Dr.Shifrin treat ALL your patients with care and compassion it goes a long way for this affects my wife daily not just because she didn’t get the results but that she could’ve went to another doctor and saved us quite a handful and got the results my household has not been the same since. It would’ve taken a few hours of your time to make things right but of course the little people would have to matter and I’m not sure your practice has reached the point of human compassion or basic customer service to even scratch the surface of caring for the little people -Joe the Plumer

Dr Shifrin is pleasant, calming and produces results that most only dream of. I recommend him for any breast or body work.
