Dr. David Cuauhtemoc Villasenor, MD

Wish there were more Doctors out there such as Dr. Villasenor. Wonderful doctor who is only interested in the care of his patients. 5 Thumbs up....

Rude doctor to family members that go in with patients to support them. He does not care to have anyone else there but the patient. He despenses advice to the patient without having all the knowledge about the patient. He will give advice about the patients life and what to do with it, without all knowledge. He missed diagnosing a major mood disorder. I would never choice to see him again.

Prescribed me drug I am allergic to!

i've seen dr villasenor in both his medical and psychiatric practices. my previous family practitioner had gone out on leave before she could get me a much needed referral to a psychiatrist. of course, her leave also left me in limbo as far as my having a dr to help me with an ever increasing number of health problems. i dreaded the thought of again being passed around the clinic, seeing whoever was available..md's, fnp, pa's... i called my clinic to see if i'd be able to see a psychiatrist or even a counselor. they set me up for an appt with their new dr villasenor. he (not his staff) did my initial psych intake (verbal history gathering that took a complete hour) and then we just talked. he then told me he thought we had a good rapport and that felt he we would be able to work with me. he asked what i thought, did i think i could work with him. i said i thought i could, and he said would take me as a patient. i then asked him if he could find out who my family… practitioner would now be. he was surprised to see it noted that he would also be my family practitioner. i said..."WHAT?"...how can you be both my "shrink" (am i the only people who still uses that term?) and body dr? ahhh, he's holds a dual degree and certification as a family practitioner AND psychiatrist. what a great idea!! i was hoping that meant he would be able to look at the total me, how my head and body worked together, and how they also were at ends with each other, too. as my shrink he was able to immediately start making Rx changes, and after only 7 months (approx) of his treating me i became stable with my psych issues-for the 1st time since being "diagnosed" (by a fnp) 9 yrs earlier. at the same time my carefree and foolish lifestyle finally caught up with me, i began having varied and serious physical complaints and illness. he has met each issue head-on, seeing me several x's at the spur of the moment. evidently he's been able to keep me up and running. i've seen dr villasenor for a couple of yrs now-very good yrs at that. we do have a good rapport. he listens thoughtfully to me, seems to respect my opinions and input. that's not to say i'm very often correct in my opinions, and he let's me know why/why not my ideas hold any water as to what is going on with me. great bedside manner, knowledgeable, concerned, thorough, great sense of humor. imagine, if you can, getting a phone call a day or 2 after seeing a dr for an emergent illnesses, and that dr personally calls you at home to see how you're doing. at least 3x's dr villasenor has done exactly that. i almost fell off my chair the 1st time he called me, AND the 2nd time, too. :) since then i've talked to 2 other patients of dr villasenor to find out he called them at home as well. they agree that he is the very best dr they've seen. huge PLUS... his nursing staff(s) (separate offices and nurses for his separate practices, same clinic) are fantastic, too! (hey ray!). the clinic staff is very efficient, easy to work with, wonderful senses of humor, and facilitating a smooth, and for me effortless, access to some of the very best health care i've EVER experienced, i'm 56yrs old and have seen my share of (mostly) good health care providers . for me to say that i'm now getting what i believe to be the very best total healthcare is saying a great deal. as you can see, dr villasenor is highly valued, respected and appreciated by myself and at least 2 other healthcare consumers. i highly recommend him to you.
