Dr. David Wan is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medicine in The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.Dr. Wan earned his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at Brown University prior to getting his medical degree at NYU where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center and his Gastroenterology fellowship at NYU.Dr. Wan’s primary clinical and research interests are colorectal cancer screening, colonoscopy quality, lower gastrointestinal bleeding, and GI hospitalist medicine. As a GI hospitalist, Director of the GI Consultation Service, and Associate GI Fellowship Program Director, he supervises the fellows extensively during their 1st year and is highly involved in their mentorship, education, and endoscopic training. Furthermore, he is dedicated to improving overall housestaff and GI fellows’ didactics and is the course director and …co-director for GI and Medicine Grand Rounds.Dr. Wan completed coursework in quality improvement and is currently working on multidisciplinary pathways for patients with acute lower GI bleeding, a bicampus Cornell-Columbia initiative to improve colonoscopy quality metrics, and the development of a formal mentorship program for fellows and junior faculty.On a national level, Dr. Wan was the Chair of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Practice Parameters Committee and currently serves on the ACG Educational Affairs Committee and ACG Universe Editorial Board.

I have a problem that no one has provided a diagnosis or a path to diagnosis and Dr Wan at least gave me a plan so I don’t just wait to end up in er again. I am hopeful we will get to a diagnosis or a solution with him. And I had sent so many medical records that he had reviewed and was prepared when we met. I traveled from kentucky to meet him so i was a bit late but he didn’t make a big deal about it and i really appreciated that.

He is very Knowledgeable, Compassionate and willing to work with my other doctors as a team. I’m a very complex patient ,and he has the insight to deal with me and has patience when other doctors were getting frustrated.

Had a short initial consultation with Dr.Wan I have a very awful condition right now, but I felt like I was going to be in good hands and was looking forward to seeing him. I had been referred to him by Dr. Jonathan Jacobs my primary at Weil Cornell for the past 23 years. Dr wan was calm and pleasant and way ahead of me. Is someone unknown right now? We know what it isn’t but he asked what my biggest fear was and my biggest fear was being at this very point of the condition I’m at now with the illness. He set up an MRI for me and some medication‘s. I feel very optimistic. I look forward to seeing him again.

I am very pleased with Dr David Wan as my gastroenterologist. He is up to date, personable and a good communicator. If it’s time for your colonoscopy — stop the search, he’s the one!

Horrible doctor and person! One of the worst experience I have ever had in a physician’s office!! The doctor wanted to see patients who were late to their appointments but made me wait even though I arrived early in case I miss my appointment! He took his time with patients who were late that were impeding on to my time. Thus, I finally asked the assistants who asked me if I wanted to leave and reschedule! I did not drive for 45 minutes to go and come back home without being seen! After waiting for so long, the doctor walked in and rushed through my appointment not explaining much and ordered procedures without explaining the details of the procedures! I am going to change this physician and never go back to him and I will tell others to do the same
