Dr. David Alan Wiles, MD

“Dr” Wiles fused my lower back, Sept. 2011. Did not check for osteoporosis and 6 months after surgery my upper back dropped, due to the severe osteoporosis, which crushed my T12 and my upper back has fractures. I live in horrific pain! Have been to Vanderbilt, where I was told by head Neurosurgeon that I never needed surgery, if I had been put in a brace it would have healed my back. Been to Duke, Charlotte, Asheville and Mayo Clinic. No one can help me. I have to walk with a cane because during surgery, Wiles damaged the motor nerve to my left leg.

I had surgery with Dr. Wiles, as far as I know he seemed competent but his office was horrible. Months to respond with scheduled tests...yes, months! What a surprise to find out eventually that Dr. Wiles was gone, I asked for a referral to a new doctor, I did this twice and again after a couple months there was no response. They actually called me to finally schedule a mylagram (3 months after it was suppose to be performed). I asked who would see the results as Dr. Wiles was gone, the answer..."well, not sure". I asked if I could see another doctor, the answer was no...I was in the middle of treatment! Awful support staff. I found out from a receptionist by accident that the doctor had moved about 3-4 months after he was already gone. Awful.

I have been going to Dr Wiles for 17 years. He has done both of my surgeries and I was definitely in capable hands! I am very grateful to have such a wonderful Dr!

just dont like the way he talk to me like he is above everybody i wish i could find someone else to help me i have copys of my mri 4 buldgeing discs spinel stenois he just dont care

Nice enough Physician but had to wait in holding 6 hours before surgery. Asked for medicine for pain but would not give anything saying I was too close to the surgical procedure.

Excellent surgeon. He has operated on me 4 times and I will be having spinal surgery in the near future if he will do it himself and not one of the interns. He comes to hospital and does check on you. He has a nice bedside manner

The worst. My surgery all had to be redone 4 months later. This time by a wonderful surgeon.
