Dr. Dennis Carroll, MD

I am writing this review as a warning to other families. During what was supposed to be a routine office visit, Dr. Dennis M. Carol attempted to cauterize a nosebleed on my 86-year-old grandmother, who has COPD and was on supplemental oxygen. According to multiple people present, the oxygen was not turned off or removed before cauterization. During the procedure, a fire ignited. My grandmother’s hair and the pillow caught fire, and the fire department had to be called. As a result, my grandmother suffered severe burns to her airway, was rushed to the hospital, intubated, sedated, and placed on a ventilator, and has since been transferred to a higher-level ICU. She is now undergoing a tracheotomy, and doctors are concerned that her voice box may be permanently damaged due to burn injuries. This was not a hospital procedure. This happened in a doctor’s office during a visit that was supposed to be routine. What has been equally disturbing is Dr. Carol’s response afterward. He… contacted my mother under the guise of “checking in,” only to state that my grandmother “didn’t have a great quality of life,” a comment that felt dismissive, inappropriate, and profoundly upsetting given that his actions directly caused her current condition. Our family is devastated. An elderly woman went in for minor care and left fighting for her life, permanently injured. I urge anyone considering care here to think very carefully and ask hard questions. This should never happen.

I feel Dr. Carroll is caring about his.patients. He listens and cares about your health and puts out ever effort to help you with your problems a very special doctor Would recommend him to others

I was a patient of Dr. Carroll for more than 5 years and always thought he was a good doctor. However, between 2017 and 2019, I took 6 blood tests and in 4 of the 6 the BUN results were high. One was only a point under being high. He never mentioned this, so I thought it must not be that important. The last time I saw him I asked about it and all he said was, "Oh, maybe your kidneys don't work perfectly." We moved and one of the first things my new GP asked was, "Do you know you have Stage 3 kidney disease?"
