Dr. Donald Folusho Temple, MD

I want to warn people from any contact with this surgeon. He performed a surgery on my colon. As a result, I had complete obstruction of the colon with its further eruption, sepsis, several additional surgeries and loss of two years of my life. I believe he must be deprived a license. I am forced to mark one star in his rating because of the required field. But this my star means a black star with five minuses.

This surgeon did surgery on my neck to remove the thyroid and ended up cutting through all the nerves and making my face droop like I had a stroke. His staff nor he never cared what the outcome was or how it effected my life, all he cared about was getting the money my insurance company. Good luck .

My whole life, my mom has been adamant about her mammograms! Every year, shes there! In 2001, my mom felt a lump and talked to her primary care physician who refused to look at or touch it but instead ordered a mammogram. Every year for 8 years, she would ask her doctor to look at and examine her breast because of the lump she felt and each time they refused instead sending her for a mammogram. Every year for 8 years, all mammograms were followed by a notice in the mail stating that everything was perfectly fine. Then the throbbing began accompanied by the appearance of an indentation of what looked like the rim of a cup. My mom and I finally yelled loud enough and begged until someone would actually look at and touch her breast. This resulted in a referral for a DIAGNOSTIC MAMMOGRAM, instead of a screening mammogram. With this better version of mammogram, a diagnosis of a tumor of 5.5 cm that, as it turns out, the radiologist @ Tower had noted in the report every year since 2000 as a… "suspicious mass and will need to be watched", all without ever telling my mom of the mass. They watched it alright. Never ordering a biopsy, they watched it get bigger and bigger. Only after my mom really insisted that something was wrong and that the screening mammograms had to be wrong, they finally biopsied it, it was 5.5 cm of cancer! This is how my family met Dr. Temple. Needless to say, we were angry and frustrated and scared. From day one, he has always treated my mom with the utmost respect and compassion. He explained my mom's options after he requested various tests which proved that the cancer was now in multiple locations in the same breast. He explained everything so clearly and complete that my mom and I felt fully informed and clear headed about the decision she was going to make. When he performed the surgery, he came out to the waiting room and met with me informing me that my mom was great, the mastectomy had gone very well and that the plastic surgeon was placing the expander for reconstruction as we spoke. Relief! Weeks later, after my mom met with her oncologist about treatment, I called Dr. Temple's office crying because the oncologist told my mom to not have further treatment because he ASSUMED, based on the size of the tumors that were removed, that my mom only had "a few months to live. Dr. Temple personally called me back and explained to me that he removed all of the cancer that was present and that the chemo would attack any cancer cells that may have escaped through the lymph nodes. He apologized about the poor information and lack of compassion we had received from the oncologist and again explained the way he saw things with my mom's case. Dr. Temple is a man who works very hard at performing to meet the standards of not only his patients but also the standards of his mentor for whom he has great respect and feels that he represents with every patient interaction and surgery he performs. He always treats my mom with the respect and kindness that he would like his mother to be treated. I cannot begin to tell you how my heart feels with every thought of this beautiful, kind, wonderful man so I will only say this: I love him and that is that! ***Side note: You know a surgeon has to be good if his mother-in-law allowed him to perform her surgery! :)
