Dr. Dzintra Freimane Celmins, MD

I rate her less that a -1 star, she has diagnosed my father with dementia- He has depression. There are many issues. He does not hear well- wears hearing aids and will read lips but if provider is masked then this is impossible. He has also had a partial laryngectomy so he does not speak loud either. She has sentenced my father to the rest of his life in a nursing home, and has my mother buffaloed. The hospitalists cared for him for 3 months thought he could go home then he should be home and she said absolutely not he will only get worse. This is definitely not true in his case- add a little bit of sertraline and he is better. She met with him for a very short period of time and decided that because his sister had Alzheimers- he has dementia.

As a patient of Dr Celmins I found her to be extremely thoughtful and thorough making a diagnosis and recommending treatment. Her quiet manner demonstrated great concern with the indivividual patient. She earned my trust by being very professional and humanistic.
