Dr. Edward Mark Kowaloff, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Kowaloff for 30 years, just about my entire adult life. Fair warning to all of you- I am his favorite patient, as I remind him frequently. lol!!! He has kept me healthy through all of my tricky health issues. I brought 2 of my nearest and dearest to him for care, and he took excellent care of them too, in spite of one being very difficult. He took care of my difficult friend with compassion and humor, just what was needed. I know he deserves to retire at some point, but I hope he keeps practicing for a very long time because I trust him, and our relationship is excellent. He is awesome.

Dr. Kowaloff is genuinely concerned about his patients. i find that the is knowledgeable and intelligent and has a good "bedside manner". At times he does appear too rushed, but that's part of the US problem of "Factory Medicine" courtesy of the insurance companies. I would, none-the-less, still recommend him to any of my friends, except for the practice management issue. Belmont Medical Associates is a practice stuck in 1970's concept of customer service. There's no concept of informed patient/doctor collaboration, no availability to internet services, such as online appointment scheduling, RX refills or access to test results. While all of these features are available via a corresponding Mt. Auburn site, the messages for any of these services seem to get lost when they reach the black hole of Belmont Medical, at which point your only recourse is a lengthy telephone call. As good as Dr. Kowaloff is, the incompetent infrastructure of Belmont Medical overwhelms the patient experience.

Always a great experience

I have been a patient for over 20 years. He has helped me at every opportunity and I have been very pleased with his kind bedside manner and very thoughtful medical answers and recommendations.

Dr Kowaloff has been my primary physician for 25 years. I find him to be very compassionate, and always follows up. I find him and his long time staff have always gone out of their way to accomodate me. I moved 50 miles away 10 years ago, but continue to keep Dr Kowaloff as my Family Physician.

Dr. Kowaloff is a good doctor. Lately, I have felt like a customer with a ticket at the deli counter. I have noticed this with other doctors as well.
