Dr. Emily C Deans, MD

Dr. Deans is well spoken, professional, caring and unconventional; in the sense that there is no length too long or mountain too high for her to climb in order to get the necessary, most current treatment, up-to-date, evidenced based medicine for her patients. If anyone has scratched the surface of Dr. Deans impressive resume, they would know she has done extensive research to treat copious psychiatric diagnosis using traditional medicine, prescribing appropriate medications; and non invasive techniques, like Alpha Stim electro-therapy, guidance in helpful media/podcasts (sites and apps for home or one the go hand held devices) and books for a more holistic approach to patient care. I consider myself to be lucky enough to have found a psychiatrist who, "plays on" my strengths and abilities to help me overcome my depression, anxiety and insomnia (whatever the cause). Bringing out the best, grounded, logical psyche (finding a clients baseline) is daunting and requires patience,… trial and error, understanding, compassion, empathy and a willingness to organically want to help. Dr. Deans is the epitome of great multifaceted psychiatry. I imagine one day, she will be a blazing beacon for younger generations of psychiatrists, and her research and teachings a cornerstone for development in treating mental illness.

She's about 100 times smarter than any other psychiatrist I've met (and that includes supposed experts at the Boston teaching hospitals). She's also much nicer and easier to talk to than most of them too.

When I saw Dr. Emily Deans, I was really turned off with her manner due to some of the things she would say. She would see me every once in awhile for 5 minutes and think she had me all figured out. She was quick to try to label me and insensitive to me when I was expressing my feelings about my childhood. I was completely shocked one day when I was referring to something hurtful about my childhood and she shot it down insulting me. I knew then and there she was not for me. It was frankly very rude and unprofessional.
