Dr. Ernest Bernard Visconti, MD

Dr. Visconti is the most humble, sincere, brilliant, caring, and thoughtful professional I have ever met. To add to that, Dr Visconti saved my life. I went to several different endocrinologists in Staten Island and Manhattan who didn't take my symptoms of losing hair, extreme lethargy, and gaining weight for no reason seriously. I told Dr. Visconti (who is my Lyme's disease doctor) my symptoms and Instead of blowing me off and blaming it on the lymes like the other doctors did, he had me go for tests on my thyroid. Turns out I had cancer. Dr. Visconti is a highly respected world renowned pediatrician an infectious disease specialist. Endocrinology isn't even his field, but he listened and took my complaints seriously!! In any event, he's my hero and I am grateful everyday to have found him.

I went undiagnosed with Lyme disease for about 10 years. Most of the medical community doesn’t believe in the severity or the disabilities and complications of Lyme. Not only is Dr. Visconti knowledge, kind, encouraging and compassionate, he appealed my insurance company’s denial for my treatment. He even calls during his off hours to check on me when I’m really sick. His staff is also AMAZING!

Upon my arrival the staff was quite friendly. Dr. Visconti referred me to a staff member named Angela. She was quite proficient in handling my IV infusion treatmemt. She was was bright knowledgeable and heartfelt. I went to many doctors and no one compared to Dr. Visconti. No other doctor was able to diagnose my issues but he was able to diagnose my lyme disease. Im truly thankful.

I am so pleased I drove the 2 hours to see him for my two children, as it was the most worthwhile pediatrician visit I’ve ever had for my kids. He has wonderful bedside manner and is knowledgeable.

He’s the best! My son has been going to him for a while now and if it wasn’t for him my son would still be suffering from acid reflux that another doc dismissed as asthma! If it wasn’t for dr Visconti my son wouldn’t be better. They need more docs like him! He listens and if he feels it’s not right he’ll send you to someone who can help.

I have been battling an illness for months that a previous dr wasn’t following up with. I went to see Dr Visconti after seeing other reviews about Lyme disease and like illnesses and I am very happy I did. Not only did he test for many different things but he actually discovered exactly what was troubling me. I’m a nurse and even I had never heard of it. Had it not been for him I’d still be suffering and struggling but now, with treatment, I know I’ll be ok. He gives his personal phone number and promptly returns calls. His staff are very personable and professional. He is truly the best and I couldn’t be more thankful for having met him.

Dr. Visconti is amazing. We went to so many doctors with our daughter and no doctor diagnosed her. Dr. Visconti went above and beyond to properly diagnose and treat our daughter. She had tick-born illnesses (co-infections). He noticed issues and sent her to other specialists and it turned out his instincts were spot-on. We are so utterly grateful.

Dr. Visconti has been my doctor for over 10 years. He is the most thorough doctor I have ever been to (and I have been to a lot of doctors!) Yes, there is often a long wait in his office, but I would wait 10 hours to see him if I had to because he knows his stuff. If you are looking for a compassionate and friendly doctor who is the most thorough there is, Dr. Visconti is your guy!

Do not allow this very nice man to convince you that you have lymes disease or cat scratch fever with a negative blood test result. He convinced me I had both with negative results. I sought a 2nd opinion and was told that those 2 diagnoses were his standard diagnoses. It’s terrible. You can become resistant to the mega antibiotics he prescribes. If you’re a hypochondriac this is your man.

He's the absolute best.

I love Dr Visconti if it wasn't for him I would never have been treated for lymes disease. He does so much lab work I also found out I have their things besides the Lyme that mimics Lyme. Love the girls too. Karen and Roe are amazing!

He's old school kindness and politeness with up to date knowledge of Lyme Disease. Can't say enough good things about him.

Dr. Visconti is amazing. He is knowledgeable, kind, and an expert in the area of infectious diseases. I know several people who could not figure out what was wrong with them when seeing other doctors but Dr. Visconti was able to give them accurate diagnosis. I highly recommend him.

THAT OFFICE IS HORRIBLE I WOULD NEVER BRING A CHILD THERE IT IS UNSANITARY AND VERY DISORGANIZED THE STAFF IS RUDE AND THE DOCTORS DIAGNOSIS ARE INCORRECT!!!! THE OFFICE MANAGER IS A HORRIBLE WOMEN AND SHOULD NOT BE THERE PERIOD

Referred by a professional in the lyme disease community, my family made a three hour car trip to see Dr. Visconti and review my child's case. After a productive talk he ordered a battery of blood work to test for various lime disease indicators. However the process took three hours of waiting in his lobby, waiting in the room, waiting in the lobby again and then back in a room to take my child's blood. For one 5 year old boy it was a bit much, but for his sake we stuck it out. Then the following week had him into the Quest Diagnostic center to do the rest of the blood work, nearly fifteen vials in all, which was no picnic. Still, we are doing what we need to do to get my boy healthy again. After the test results came in we contacted Dr. Visconti to get his opinion and put him in contact with our family pediatrician. As soon as Dr. Visconti realized that he would not be the primary care provider he ceased returning phone calls. For three weeks our family pediatrician has been trying to get him to pick up and send more than a fax back to her office. I'm extremely angry that after finding that my child still has lyme disease, he has delayed giving my pediatrician any sort of guidance on next steps. We were perfectly happy paying him to be the specialist, that he purports to be, to help guide our pediatrician on treatment options. Now I still have a sick boy and no guidance. Avoid Dr. Visconti unless you want to keep making long drives to Staten Island, NY. He's obviously only interested in growing his personal practice instead of helping a sick child.

This doctor is the best. he has found things others did not even think about and each time, because the treatment worked, his diagnosis was borne out. Knowing what you are dealing with is most important to getting the help you need and there isn't a better diagnostician out there. The fact that he is caring, compassionate and an all around lovely and respectful human being just makes everything better!
