Dr. Faina Kogan, MD

She’s overworked and not touchy-feely but she cares a great deal about her patients. I realized this after I saw time stamps (1 am) of when she looked at and reviewed the results of my scans. Don’t be fooled by her tough demeanor, she truly cares and wants the best for her patients (she’s just not outwardly expressive about this). She is also very knowledgeable and experienced.

I didn’t have the best experience with her but looks like others did from the positive reviews. I don’t think she means to be dismissive or rude and she may be misunderstood but she could develop more patience with patients and personal differences that may arise. Healthcare and illness is tough for doctors and patients alike, patience and grace can go a long way for both sides! “It is possible to conceive conflict as not necessarily a wasteful outbreak of incompatibilities, but a normal process by which socially valuable differences register themselves for the enrichment of all concerned.”– Mary Parker Follett

Very cold, cruel, and does not care if the patients under her care are harmed (one example is her refusal to treat or address abnormal test results). I was lucky to have escaped her negligence but feel sorry for the future patients she will harm.

Negligent and careless as a healthcare provider. She showed zero concern for me as a patient and was even contemptuous at times. If her sole mission as a doctor is to judge people and act superior instead of treating and helping, then she should really find a different career path and leave medicine.

First and foremost, I miss my doctor as I have moved to Crusty North Carolina. I had to get a taste of the bad experience in North Carolina on the doctors that don't ask question but try their best to provide services to you that you will have to come out of your pocket for. As Dr. Kogan ask question and want to know what your concerns are regarding the issues you have and what she can try to do for you. As it is up to you if you want to get better by putting some effort into your health. I have to say for all those that have given a bad review, it is your choice, but go back to rectify the issue and see if you can start over again on a good note. I have acknowledge to the doctor in the south that if CBS, NBC and ABC NEWS can acknowledge the bad medical service you receive in the south, please believe it. However, this does also speak volumes about your insurance but the bedside manner of the doctor here is not great. Needless to say, Dr. Kogan thank you for making sure that all… my test were done in New York along with my follow-up visit. I may have to come to New York to get the service that I need. Dr. Kogan meticulous. She's always very caring and a great doctor!

I brought my elderly mother to see Dr Kogan at NYU Langone in Rego Park because geriatrics were listed as her specialty. She never addressed a single word directly to my mother, generally did not listen, mouthed her opinion about my mother's mental situation to me behind my mother's back & prescribed a blood pressure medicine that eventually gave my mother hallucinations. It was the single most appalling doctor's visit I have ever experienced. I rarely write negative reviews but I am writing this one to forestall other elderly patients & their caretakers from this experience.
