Dr. Fariha Kausar, MD

The most dismissive and least caring physician, I’ve ever encountered. She disregarded all of my symptoms without any further testing and was quick to end my appointment after 5-10mins at most, until I complained further of my pain and only then, she wrote a script for me to take neck/back X-ray… Thereafter, the follow up was from staff to refer me to PT and no mention of monitoring or planning of my “diagnosis” related to medication or explaining what was found from X-ray. I will be going to a different specialist for a second opinion.

I tried to make an appointment with this doctor following a positive ANA ordered by my cardio. I was told she would look at my record and decide if she would provide me with an appt. That was off putting. Somehow I was granted with an appt. Dr. Kaiser began the appt by stating the test I had was ordered far too often. Shame on my cardio for trying to get to the root of my issues. She o on rice edged to state the results were probably false positive as I had no overt symptoms. I truly felt as though I was wasting her time, all 5 minutes she gave me. She then said she’d order the rest of the panel. 1/5 tests returned positive and I was directed by her office to repeat it in 3 months for total of 3 times. After the second one returned positive, I was instructed by her staff to make a follow up appt to discuss monitoring. I had that visit today and am sorry I did. She was even more dismissive, more condescending than the first visit if that’s possible. She had absolutely no… bedside manner, no compassion, no engagement. And then chided me for asking about repeating the test, that her staff had initially relayed. I know what I was told. I am a health professional and I hope my patients NEVER feel as disengaged as I did. I will not return to see Dr. Kauser and I’m sure she could care less if I did.

Dr. Kausar is a great doctor. Her nurse Annette is a great nurse and sweet person. The staff for Palos Hospital is HORRIBLE. Expect rude interactions. Expect lack of communication. Expect lack of professionalism. Expect to be placed on hold for 10-20 minutes. Expect to never be advised of your test results. I'm done with this place and seeking a new physician's office immediately.
