Dr. Fatima Barragan, MD

Fatima Barragan, MDFatima Barragan, MD is a multicultural, multifaceted, bilingual provider who grew up speaking Spanish and English. She received her Bachelor’s in Molecular and Cell Biology with a minor in Psychology from the University of California, Merced. Dr. Barragan pursued her inquisitive interest in basic science by researching pro-inflammatory diseases at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She went to medical school at Michigan State University and concurrently was accepted into the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Medical Research Scholars Program (MRSP), where she conducted pediatric oncology research. Dr. Barragan returned to San Francisco to complete her pediatric residency at UCSF’s Benioff Children’s Hospital. During residency, she became interested in learning more about the biopsychosocial factors that affect health. Post-residency, she received specialized training in Integrative Medicine and is a graduate of Stanford University’s Pediatric …Integrative Medicine Fellowship Program. She is also completing the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine Fellowship from the University of Arizona. She is a Board-Eligible Pediatrician and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.Though she has had many academic accolades, Dr. Barragan’s highest achievement is connecting with people and patients of all backgrounds. She has a passion for wellness and is trained in multiple treatment modalities including Medical Hypnosis, Auricular Therapy, Acupressure, Aromatherapy, and Herbal Medicine. A little-known fact about Dr. Barragan is that she is also a certified fitness instructor and loves to incorporate movement therapies into her practice. She is currently learning how to surf and enjoys salsa dancing, hiking, and cooking.
