Dr. Fern E Mayer, MD

I visited Dr Mayer recently, and I had a memorable experience. But not in a good way. After sitting in room waiting for 10 minutes, she waltzes in. She had absolutely no one else in the building except for staff, which has me questioning why it took her so long to arrive. When she finally decided to see me, she immediately started to discuss politics. She didn’t even say hello before going on a 15 minute discussion with herself about the state of the pandemic. After that, she finally looked at my skin and gave me some things, while prescribing a few more. She didn’t even tell what they were for, but walked me out to the desk to pay. I will not be visiting her again.

Dr.Fern Mayer is excellent she does an amazing job she listens and give great feedback best dermatologist ever..The ladies at the front desk that check you in is very rude example I notice there were samples so I took a a face wash and moisturizer for my face the lady removed the basket I was very offended I’m sure that’s not the culture Dr Mayer expect her staff to have.Everything was great.

Excellent staff , Dr Mayer was very thorough in her ability to treat my condition. Her treatment provided a solution that was complety noninvasive and provided excellent results.

In ten years, she is the only MD to solve my problem. I had gone to Stephen Kolenik who prescribed Ketoconazale which made my condition unbearable. He provide no hope for a solution. I am an African American and I regret for returning to him for years and receiving nothing more than a prescription for Hydrocortisone Valerate.

First, Dr. Mayer is an excellent doctor: listens, captures, explains and helps well. She is knowledgeable, but would not pretend to know and do everything better than everyone else. You can count on her appropriate referral if needed. Second, Dr. Mayer's charges are very reasonable. She does not accept my insurance anymore, but I continue going there (see #1). These all makes her one of the most trustful doctors in Stamford.

Dr. Mayer is the best! She knows her stuff when it comes to diagnosing a skin problem I've gotten an appointment for emergencies with no wait time when I arrived. Her Ladies at the front desk are always very nice and helpful. Clean and professional atmosphere. Try her you will love her.

Dr. Mayer is an excellent and very caring physicians. I was a patient for many years, but due to health insurance plan I had to change doctors. After a very tramautic experience with that doctor, I contacted Dr. Mayer. Who seen me immediately and started helping me to repair the damaged that had been done. Most doctors won't even touch you after another doctor has done a procedure that caused adversed reactions, but Dr. Mayer did and continues to work with me 3 years later without any hesitation. If you're looking very a caring and knowledgeable doctor, then she's the one!

Wonderful bedside manner! FYI, usually booking a regular office visit is about a month out because she is sooo good and has that many patients!

I had some rashes that I had gone to her for... did not have appts for 2 months. When I went there, I had requested a full examination. However, when she came in to the examination room almost 20 minutes later, did not even touch the spots or examine the rashes and just gave me 3 prescriptions. When I picked up the prescription from Walgreens, one of the medicines clearly indicated in dosage and instructions to use 3 days apart (she wanted me to use it twice daily), and the other one clearly indicated that it is not recommended for asthamatic patients (which I am) but she still advised me to use it. The last cream seemed ok, so I used it. The very first time I used it, my rashes became bright red and I felt that I needed to scratch them so hard as to take the skin out. When I called to check on this, no calls were returned and I was informed by the receptionist that "the doctor has your message, will get back to you when she has a minute". I completely refuse to go to her again and… will make sure I will spread a negative word at work, with friends and family. Definitely do not recommend.
