Dr. Burton grew up in southern Indiana and received his medical school training at Indiana University School of Medicine, where he graduated in 1987. He completed his residency training at Methodist Hospital of Indiana in 1990. He had been in practice in Longview, Washington for 16 years before moving to Roanoke with his family in 2006. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
