Dr. Francis Anthony Palermo, MD

Dr. Palermo has a very strong caring passion for his patients. Wonderful Doctor.

When Dr. Palermo was confronted with his office manager's outrageous behavior, he promptly left the room and did not want to hear the concern. Since the office manager is related to the doctor, it is nepotism reining supreme. No patient should be told that "we don't want you here".

In order to register with this office I had to provide certain information. Initially I talked to a lady and then she got too busy so a male voice came on the phone. I asked for the lady back. He refused. The guy said he was the office manager. He asked questions that are not allowed. I told him he doesn't need to have that information. He said the insurance needed it. Later he said the office needed that information. So he contradicted himself. If I was answering these questions on paper, I would have crossed them off or said MYOB Question what is your social security number? I did not want to give it. In this day and age the SSN is not to be used or given out because of identity theft. But if I did not give it I could not register or ultimately see the doctor. The office manager was quite rude and condescending. I returned the attitude in a like manner. So my heart is now wildly beating because I wanted just to be able to see the doctor and get help for the cardiac… problem. I gave in and gave the office manager the SSN. Question- what is your marital status. The same chincanery continued. Unless he had that information he would not register me. He also said he didn't want me there because I would give HIS staff a problem. I said yes I would give a problem if these did something they should not. Question what is your race/ethnicity? He didn't like my answer and claimed it wasn't a race. How can I go to such a place that would give you further heart problems simply because they ask questions that violate my rights. I am going to persue this use of this line of questioning with legal authorities.

The office is not what it used to be and seems very disorganized. I had a family member switched from this practice. After switching to a new doctor it was noted the tests that were being conducted every year by Dr. Palermo were not warranted. Those test were extremely expensive and to go to a new doctor to find out that my situation does not warranted those specifics tests makes me question the professional conduct and ethics of Dr. Palermo's practice.

Love, love, love Dr. Palermo. Sometimes the wait to see him is long, but when you are that good.... And he takes his time with each patient. I'd rather that then wait only to be rushed.

I think Dr Palermo is a great doctor. However, in the last year the staff and including the office manager have been rude. I called with a condition of getting dizzy and had several falls. I had the most difficult time communicating with the front staff. This condition has still not been addressed since I was referred to a vascular surgeon who will not be able to see me 2 full months. They were very indifferent and do not communicate well. I called the other day for a refill of a blood pressure med. I allowed 2 business days. I never had a problem before, but this time I only had 6 pills left. I did not realize I was so low in this medication. When I called in the 2nd business day in the later afternoon to see why my pharmacy did not receive an order I then called the office and spoke with the office mgn and Liz. I was told it was not approved by the doctor and that the doctor was not there that day. I expressed my concern about waiting to Monday morning since I will not have… this medication after Saturday evening, I was told there was nothing they could do that I should be aware I was getting low on this medication and should have called earlier. I always called three of four days before my medication needed a refill. I was treated very poorly and was inferred that I was lying. I really like Dr Palermo, but if something is not done with this poor staff, my husband and I will have to find another doctor.

Awesome doctor and spends the time with you that is needed and not rushing you out the door. Staff was prompt and professional.

This physician has a cold, indifferent manner. His staff is nice.

If you want a heart attack, then deal with Dr. Palermo's staff. A nightmare!
