Dr. Frank Owen Mc Gehee, MD

I have seen Dr. McGehee on several occasions. I think he is a brilliant physician and definitely knows what he is doing. I have also seen his NP, Brenda. While I do not personally care for her, the rest of his staff have always been professional and kind.

Dr. McGehee is a good doctor. I trusted him a lot. That is, I trusted him the two times I saw him. The rest of the time I saw Brenda, the Nurse Practitioner. Generally, I trust NPs and am happy to see them. But Brenda made a lot of mistakes, and she made judgments that she wasn't qualified to make. She was rude and argumentative. She didn't listen to me. During one visit, she didn't even glance up at me while I was speaking to her. The rest of the staff was argumentative and unhelpful. I couldn't even leave a phone message for the doctor with the receptionist. She just argued with me and said she had to check my file. The nurse, Stacy, was rude, argumentative, condescending, and ill-formed about pain management. I would have stayed with Dr. McGehee, but I had to find a different practice because of the staff. It's too bad we have to go to Lubbock to get adequate medical care.

I have been going to this dr for a few years. But since he hired that np I only get to see her even when the dr is in the office. She is in and out lickity split. She is unfriendly almost to the point of being rude. Does not listen to concerns or questions. Sent me to physical therapy and told us to come back if it doesnt help. I tried to get a mild pain reliever to no avail. She wasn't hearing it. Bad for business.

This place will take your money and leave u feeling worse then you did before you even went for there help. Scammers pump u full of steroids charge u 1500 a pop trust me just go get steroid shot at local oraticioner and save yourself time Money and dignity

I have been going there for five years and recently left. Dr. Mcgeehee is awesome but Brenda the nurse practitioner that I got pushed off to is the rudest most cold hearted person I ever met. She never listens to my complaints or pays attention to my pain level. I hear her through the door while I wait and all she does is talk about the patients and puts them down or makes fun of them. She is very unprofessional and has become very cocky over time. She is the only reason I left. I would always recommend the dr. but nut the nurse practitioner.

The doctor is great. The problem is, you only see him the first time (or that was my situation). The rest of the appts I was seen by his nurse, who is very rude. Absolutely uncalled for. I did not know you had to test positive for the pain med you were on when you went for your visit. On one month, I did not need to take all my med so it did not show up in my urine. The next month, I had very bad pain and needed more than what was allotted so I did not have the med in my system. They sent me a letter saying I was no longer a patient there. Good grief! Explain the rules! I never remember anything stated to that effect from what I read. The front staff just act like it's a job too. I had yet to see one even smile. I'm sure they all, including the PA, put on a good show in front of Dr. McGehee when he is there but little does he know, they are also causing patients to leave or to be unhappy with them.

Dr. McGehee is a very caring doctor and he listens to you about your aches and pains. I was given a prescription that helped me to get stable and if and when I needed an epidural, he administered it without pain to me. I know he is there for me when I need him or his PA. Midland is blessed to have him.

I have been in severe pain for 3 months after hurting my back. I have 1 herniated disc and 2 bulging discs. They worked me in a week early. Great bedside manner. Went over thoroughly what he was going to do and what I should exp ct for results. Would highly recommend to everyone. Office staff was polite and courteous. Exceptionally clean office and procedure rooms.

I happened to write a letter telling him how desperate I was for relief of pain . I had seen him earlier and he said almost always therapy is required before insurance would pay. Over the next couple of weeks that's what I did and I situation worsened. I wrote him a letter literally in tears over the pain. The next day he told the staff to get me in.

When I first started going here, I received excellent care from Dr. McGehee but now never see him unless I am having a procedure, just his PA, who acts like she doesn't care if I live or die and am wasting her time when I have an appointment. She sighs, rolls her eyes, and speaks to me like I'm a child or someone with no intelligence instead of an educated, grown woman. Why Dr. McGehee lets his employee treat his patients like dirt is beyond me because he seems like a caring man, or he did when I used to get to see him. The office has stunk horribly for about a year from something that must have died inside a wall and some of the staff is rude and inefficient and won't return calls. If it could be like it was in the beginning when I started going, I could give higher ratings because I think the doctor was trying to help me. Now I feel like I don't matter and that they only keep me as a patient because I have good insurance. I'm trying to avoid surgery but I guess I might as… well forget that because I'm not being left with another option unless I want to suffer.
