The ache is still there. Hip pain now when walking. Never should have listened to you. I see that catering only to the wealthy didn't pan out.

9 years ago Dr Geisler completed a spinal fusion on my back .As a result, I have my life back. I am no longer addicted to narcotic painkillers and I am able to do everything I used to be able to do including work, downhill skiing and lifting heavy weights. I am no longer in pain. Thank you, Dr. Geisler!

I had a sacral fusion a few years ago while he was still in Chicago. Now, I have progressively worse sacral and lower back pain, leg pain, uterine pain, and groin pain. Prior to fusion, it was just back pain and he was sure fusing sacrum would help. Those SI-bone implants are NOT the best option for everybody. And on top of it all, my other doctors(rheumatologist and multiple neurologists) have said my sacrum wasn't arthritic at all! It was just a ploy to get me to allow a sacral fusion, I was a guinea pig because they wanted to "test" the implants for lower back pain. Definitely wish I'd never allowed fusion of sacrum!! My quality of life has gone down the toilet and all he said at follow up was "go see weight watchers". Funny weight wasn't even mentioned prior to surgery. He was dismissive and rude. Steer clear!!

I was very surprised to read some of the reviews. Dr. Geisler did two spinal surgeries on me. The first neurosurgeon to whom I was sent by my primary care physician refused to do surgery and sent me to Dr. Geisler who first operated on my lumbar/sacral spine (2000) and later on my cervical/thoraic spine (2003). I had spinal stenosis so bad that crumbling bone was removed, along with repair for a herniated disk, a bulging disk, and other problems. I now have seven sections of cadaver bone fusions, 3 rods, and a plate. My pain level was reduced. The only reason I had to go out on disability after the second surgery was because of nerve damage which is totally unpredictable in surgery.

Chronic Ache. Geisler Fused L3 to L5 with all the Hardware. Ache unchanged. Now Stabbing Pain in hips when walking. Sarcastically told me he can fuse more. Stay AWAY.

Dr Geisler fused me at L5-S1 after multiple attempts by world famous doctors at very prominent hospitals failed.He truly is Dr FIXIT.

this guy owns stake in the implants he puts in you...go at your own risk, I had to have everything taken out by another doc

Very good back surgeon who can be trusted with your spinal future health. Go to the best before your 1st back surgery. I wish l had gone to him before my 1st back surgery which screwed up my spine for the rest of my life. He doesn't have the greatest bed side manner but in the operating room he is a total pro & very knowledgeable, experienced & capable.

I saw Dr. Geisler in 2000 for a surgury on my Thoracic T-6 thru T-10. I was fitted with 2 rods and 8 screws, he also removed bone from my hip which he combined with my blood which was reduced to a thick past, this was supposedly applied to the affect vertebre to fuse those areas which is why the rods were installed to keep area stable while graft healed......I was told those rods and screws could be removed after 2+ years. I recently went for an mri because I have continued to have severe pain after surgery. The findings showed no fusion or evidence of any fusion at all!!! My pain has been so severe I am unable to live a normal life. PLEASE get several opinions before having ANY back surgery....my rating only examples how easy it was to see him and how good the staff was. This in no way reflects the result of the surgery which is completely negative.

Beware. This doctor cares about procedures and billing only. Does not care about patient's ability to recover or what the patient really needs. I was the only patient of the day, and the doctor spent 3 minutes with me once he realized that I did not want an expensive surgery. Beware of unethical behavior.
