Fred Rauscher, M.D. is a native of Northwest Indiana and graduated "With Highest Distinction" from Indiana University. During medical school at Duke University he was elected to the AOA Medical Honor Society. He has won awards from the American Diabetes Association, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and Congressional Glaucoma Foundation for his efforts to prevent and cure blindness. Dr. Rauscher completed both his residency in opthalmology and fellowship in glaucoma at the world famous Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Rauscher specializes in glaucoma care, and is an expert cataract, glaucoma and cornea surgeon, including laser surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Opthalmology and American Glaucoma Society. In 2008, Dr. Rauscher decided to bring his expertise and caring spirit to Springfield, where he accepts Medicare assignment and participates with most insurance plans.
