Dr. Gabriela Hunko, MD

Dr. Hunko failed to diagnose something that could have easily been treated with a course of antibiotics. Her failure resulted in an emergency procedure, 2 week hospital stay and extensive outpatient treatment. I strongly caution you if you choose to be treated by this doctor.

Really wanted to like her, but should have paid attention to reviews. Her staff is ok, but Dr. Hunko is extremely rude. My first appt went well, she seemed like she wanted to help with pain I'd been having for a few months. Second appt, I thought had gone ok, although she didn't do much; I just updated her on what tests another dr. had ordered. Daughter had an appt the next day and asked me to go and help explain. The dr. was telling my daughter about a med. When I added a comment about the med, she actually turned her face away from me and held up her hand to my face to not talk. She ignored me, continued talking to my daughter. Toward the end of the appt, she "apologized" but also added "but you talk to much, just like yesterday". This isn't the case. When I asked her about that she responded "Maybe I have the wrong person." Whether she got the wrong person or not, this is unacceptable from a health professional. Most drs want to know information. She doesn't.

Staff is rude, unhelpful and makes you feel like your always wasting their time. If you are so unhappy working there you should leave and find something that makes you happy. Yet to hear and see one happy staff member.

no manners argues with patient as she did with me,aske me questions i didnt even know, coulodnt at leastget a temporary handicap my wif helped me walk I have a bad heart no feelimgs on my right leg ,didnt check me just questions i cant walk well because of the pain i have when i walk on my ri9ght foot i got after open heart sergury but all came out bad ,got an infection on my incition ,i know not her fslt but st least she could have given me a temp wheelchair card that i use foe me and my wheel chair..i wouldnt tell people about her like all of you because she is rude and bad doctor manners .havent gotten the privalage to saybedside manners yet but i can imagine..I had a bad experience with her when she started argueing with me...

I have enjoyed and appreciated my office visits with Dr. Hunko. She listens and answers all questions I have had. I recommend her any time someone asks me about a doctor.

The worst doctor in El Paso. She has no business being a Doctor. She does not care about patients.

I have been Dr. Hunko's patient for approx. 5 years; followed her from her previous practice. Have always had a good experience with her and her staff. She is a compassionate and patient doctor who takes her time with her patients. No complaints - highly recommend her.

I have gone to Dr. Hunko for about three years and have always had very competent, caring and expert medical treatment. She is very patient with any questions I have had and spends as much time as I need to be sure I understand her diagnoses and treatments. Her office staff is always professional and efficient. Any time I have had to call for an appointment or a prescription query, I have gotten prompt answers. I would highly recommend Dr. Hunko to my friends and family for any internal medicine concerns.

Will Not return

I went for my annual follow up appointment and got right in at my scheduled time. The medical assistants are always very nice and polite, their receptionist always call and do what they say, either sick visit or refills. During my appointment the doctor took the time to explain all the blood tests, mamogram and CT scans, een the ones oredered by another doctor, My whole family goes to the office and is always a good experience.
