we would like an apology from you to your patient Martha, who you saw on 12/6/2024 for post surgery and you violently threw the sling to the floor you were very rude and disrepectful you deserve no stars

Way to long of wait times. Has 6 patients at a time and spends little time with you. Workman’s comp so choices were limited.

I have been going to dr Levengood for seven years and my wife also goes to him. Not only is he a great physician and surgeon but his staff are great. I would recommend him to anyone that needs help with a orthopedic problem. Great person

We had been patients of Sports Medicine South for about 10 years and had always had a good experience. Harris Patel was a favorite of ours and would still recommend him today. However, about a year ago, my daughter had surgery on her ankle for the second time to strengthen very loose ligaments and tendons. Surgery seemed to go well but she ended up getting an infection. The first time her cast was removed it was evident there was an infection. She was put on oral antibiotics and told some things to do at home to help with the infection. Two months later and she is still fighting with the infection. It got so bad she went to the emergency room and they called Dr. Levengood and she was sent home. After many return visits Dr. Levengood finally decided to do another surgery to clean up the infection (reluctantly). The infection still did not get better, only seemed to get worse, but she was continuously sent home with more oral antibiotics. 5 months after the initial surgery, still… infected, the anchor that was put in her ankle came out through the infected incision. At that point we decided to get another opinion. She was put in the hospital and another surgery was performed to clean up what was not done before. She had a MRSA infection all the way to her bone and was in the hospital for 7 days with IV antibiotics. She was sent home with a PICC line in and had 6 weeks of IV antibiotics. She should have been put on IV antibiotics a lot sooner. Dr. Levengood never seemed concerned about the infection and actually made us feel stupid for being concerned.The infection is gone, but her ankle will never be the same. She will need at least one more surgery on her ankle to repair what was never repaired initially. Be very careful when using this doctor. All seems ok until something goes wrong and he doesn't want to deal with the issues.

I highly recommend Dr. Levengood, I have been going to him about 4 years. He did full knee replacement in 1915 and I have just had knee replacement on the other knee. Both of my knees was bone to bone and in a lot of pain. Since my first surgery after recovery I have had no pain and can go up and down stairs. I am strong lol recovering from my second surgery that has been seven weeks. I just saw Dr. Levengood today and he x Rayed knee and said everything was going good and I feel a lot better than I did before my surgery even thou I am not completely healed. I go back in 3 weeks. He is very friendly and helpful and so is all of his staff.

My daughter had ACL surgery with Dr. Levengood several years ago. It went terribly bad. Both screws came loose and caused her a great deal of pain. Even after repeatedly requesting X-rays be made to determine the cause of the pain, Dr. Levengood nor his PA would do an X-ray as they were convinced she had a low pain tolerance. They even suggested we take her to a Sports Psychiatrist. They told me repeatedly that an X-ray at that stage was not protocol and that everything with her knee was fine, she just had no tolerance for pain. They sent me home with a cauterizing stick to cauterize a sore she had on her knee. We immediately found another WONDERFUL orthopedic physician. Within 5 minutes of being in his office, an X-ray revealed both of the screws used to attach the ACL had come loose and one of them was coming through her skin causing the sore on her knee. The location the screw was coming through on her knee was where Levengood's office told me to cauterize. Our new… physician removed that screw in his office as it was literally sitting just under the surface of the skin. It took 2 additional surgeries to repair her knee and 6 weeks of IV antibiotics at home to rid her body of the infection. She is now 21 years old and experiences constant knee pain due to the bone infection and damage to her knee as a result of this doctor missing the problem because he was convinced he had done no wrong and would therefore, not go outside of his normal protocol to determine why she was in pain! Be VERY VERY careful. If your surgery has no complications, you will probably be fine with Dr. Levengood. But, if you have complications, it is my opinion that he is too arrogant to think anything with his procedures/surgeries can go wrong. I have heard, first hand, from other people and medical professionals, that multiple people have had similar bad experiences with him. If he is your doctor and he is not addressing your issues, GO TO ANOTHER DOCTOR!!!

I cant say my shoulder surgery went bad, or was a bad job, for I never sought a second opinion. What I can say is that the process that follows did not go well for me. His different teams (x-ray, MRI, rehab dept) did not seem to communicate. I choose to use his rehab office, but left after 6 weeks. Found them not very friendly, too busy talking with one another to pay attention to the clients and seemed to give the same routine for every patient with similar problems. And they pushed you to tears when trying to achieve range of motion. Many things went wrong after surgery and ended up with frozen shoulder due to the MRI with contrast being too painful for my body to handle at that time. Once at the MRI dept, he didn't realize I was 6 weeks post opp. No one informed him. That's when I left. Oh, most importantly... I never saw Dr. Levengood after surgery. He sent me to the nurse. Made me feel he didn't really care about me or how the surgery went.

Dr Levengood fixed my knee when I couldn't bend it after a knee replacement 2yrs ago. I now bend it up to 130degrees! Thanks to his help I hope to be walking without all the pain.

Very rude doctor I waited two hours for him to dismiss me after 5 minutes.

Everyone n the office is wonderful. They care about you, the patient. I have been a patient for several years & the only complaint I have is te time you wait BUT when it i your turn you have their full attention.
