Dr. Gary Michael Klein

I am a retired Navy veteran and was having stomach pain for two days. I could not get in to see my regular doctor at the Navy treatment facility, so I went to the free standing ER in Reston.I walked in, saw the nurse who took my blood pressure and temperature, and she instructed me to sit in the waiting area. A P.A. then saw me 20 minutes later, and the about 40 minutes or so I was placed in a room. Dr. Klein came in, sat down and asked me questions concerning my complaint. He listened very carefully to me. Then he examined me, explaining what he was doing and why. He ordered a few tests, and told me to relax, and that he would be back to let me know what was going on. After about an hour, he came back and discussed all of the findings with me, and really took the time to explain why I needed to be admitted for at least 24 hours, and that he would make arrangements for me to be seen by a stomach doctor.He was very kind and I so appreciative to have a doctor who took time to talk to… me and explain to me. I wrote a note to the hospital thanking them.

No one likes to go to an emergency room, but after cutting myself with a steak knife, off I went to the hospital. Dr. klein was the E.R. Doc that came in. He greeted me, asked questions, and really made me feel at ease. He numbed the area on my arm that I cut, cleaned it, and then put stiches in. During the whole time he told a story and just put my mind at ease. After he was done, he reviewed the take home sheet with me, and, get this, called me 2 hours later to see how I was doing!That kind of concern and compassion is gone, but not with Dr. Klein!
