Dr. Gary Brian Spector, MD

Dr. Spector is ok as pediatrician, but he doesn't really listen to the patient. After a visit where some paper work filled out at the start of the visit turned out to be a new assessment that wasn't covered by the standard wellness visit, Dr. Spector, his office and the polyclinic in general were completely unhelpful and defensive. When I reached out to ask why they hadn't told me this paper work was a new service, the didn't actually listen to the question and assumed I was asking why they didn't tell me it wasn't covered. It wasn't until I had to listen to Spector go on about the purpose of the assessment and how they couldn't possible know what was covered, that I finally got him to listen. It was at that point I explained to Spector that a little bit of empathy and listening would have saved a lot of time everyone involved. In any case his defensiveness and in ability to listen or have empathy doesn't instill confidence that he'll listen to the patient in his role as a… pediatrician.

Dr. Spector is the best doctor I've ever had an experience with and I feel lucky that he's our son's doctor. He's wicked smart, super compassionate and wildly funny. (If you do not have a sense of humor, I would choose a different doctor). I will be heartbroken when this man retires.

Our 3 boys have been with Gary Spector for 21 years ! His intelligence, experience, and work ethic are unparalleled. He is wonderful with the kids and the parents... and when his diagnostic skills are required, there is no one better.

My girls love Dr. Spector we moved 3 1/2 hours away and we still go to him. My husband and I wouldn't go to any one else for our girls. He is the best!

Doctor Spector saved our youngest son's life! When our son was born, he had an extremely low red blood cell count, which was not detected until Dr Spector examined him and ordered the proper tests, consequently referring us to ICU, where our son received the timely blood transfusion to survive. The attending OB and the nurses did not detect anything wrong. If it weren't for Dr. Spector, we may not have had our baby today. We have two children with Dr. Spector and we'd like to say that any parent is lucky to have him as their childrens' doctor!

Can't say enough good things about Dr Spector.:) My daughter has very complicated asthma problems and we could not ask for a more caring, thoughtful, smart and thorough Dr.

My children love him and I trust him. He is caring and thorough. He has won just about every award a pediatrician can win. Marvelous doctor!

I cannot imagine trusting my daughters to anyone else! He is extremely thorough, very comforting, follows up and responsive. My friends all go to him as well and it sounds like a fan club when we get together. Word of warning, however. He used to be a professional standup comedian to pay for school and his jokes are rarely politically correct even though they are hysterical. Besides being an outstanding pediatrician, he is also a cancer specialist. He explained his humor to me once by saying, believe me, I know what is serious and everything else in life is to be enjoyed.
