Dr. Geoffrey M. Millican, MD

Did my shoulder surgery 5 years ago. Talks like a human being, very blunt and truthful. My shoulder works great.

I’ve had a knee replaced and a hip by Dr Millican. My wife has had a shoulder replaced. All three surgeries were so very excellently done. His skills and professionalism are beyond reproach. None better.

Waited more than an hour after our appointed time before my husband and I were shown to an exam room. After another 13 minutes or so, he bounced into the room and asked what was wrong. I told him I had fallen 10 months ago, and I now had a seroma in my left side that was causing pain when I lay on that side at night. He immediately denied that I was having pain from a seroma and said it must be from my hip joint. I indicated the seroma was on the opposite side of my hip fracture and that the fracture had already been treated. I explained my GP wanted an ortho doctor to drain the seroma, even though it was not connected to a joint. Dr. Millican said that a seroma would eventually be reasorbed by the body and would resolve itself. We then discussed the torn ligaments in my shoulder, and he reviewed the MRI disc I had brought. He said that there was nothing he could do. Not even a shoulder replacement would alleviate all the pain I may be experiencing. I would need to go to my pain… management doctor for shoulder injections. Upon hearing this, I again repeated that I had come to him primarily to drain the seroma, which was keeping me awake at night when I tried to lay on my left side. He said, as he was leaving the exam room, he would give me an order for a radiologist to perform a draining procedure since that was what I wanted. His nurse brought in the office visit report and escorted us out, and we left the office, with no follow up indicated. A few days later, we received a phone call from M&S Imaging, and we made an appointment to have the seroma drained. When I got there and was called into the X-ray room for the ordered injection in my hip. I was appalled and said I wasn't here for an injection but rather a draining of the seroma. The technician was also confused in that the pain management doctor that Dr. Millican had specified to perform the procedure did not work at M&S Imaging, and his order was specifically for an injection to the hip. I said I would call my GP and have him issue an order for the drainage at a later date. When the technician said she would send a report to Dr. Millican, I indicated I could care less if he received a report since I would not be returning to his office. It seemed to me that he didn't listen to his older patients and did not care if I did not return to his office. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Had a knee replacement, excellent Doctor and staff are great. Such a down to earth Doctor. Treat you like a friend very friendly and courteous.

Dr. Millican diagnosed the reason PT was not helping my left shoulder pain. MRI revealed a tear. Surgery on my rotator went well. He showed me pictures before and after surgery as well as what the area ought to look like. As this area is one with the longest healing time, progress is better than expected. I recommend Dr. Millican for this type surgery should you need it.

Dr Geoffrey Millican is awesome. He is funny, but always listening. I was very happy with him as a person and as a doctor. My knee replacement was a breeze with him.

Had been seeing another Dr for elbow pain was given pain killers and a brace. kept asking for a shot. Went to see Dr Millican gave me a shot have had no more pain !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Dr Millican !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today was supposed to be my first visit with Doctor Millican. He came highly recommended by my paid doctor. They attended medical school together and are personal friends. I got referred to him because it was discovered that my right hip is in terrible condition with a large portion of the head of the femur simply gone. My doctor told me that surgery was necessary as soon as possible as my hip, in it's current condition, could fail at any time... even walking from his office to my car. Dr Millican's office contacted me this past Monday morning to schedule my appointment. I got the last available appointment today, Friday Feb 6. Due to construction in the Medical Center, where his office is located, we got to the building with only a few minutes to spare. I waited for my wife at the elevators and, five minutes after my appointment time, I headed up to his office. I arrived at the front desk six minutes late, signed in, produced my photo ID, insurance and credit… card for my co-pay. I was given the normal paperwork to fill out. As I was in that process I was called back up to the desk and was informed that because I was late (six minutes late) that my appointment was cancelled. SIX MINUTES So much for health 'care'... more like health 'I could care less.' Thanks for nothing, Dr. Millican.
