Dr. Gerald J. Harkins, MD, MD

Dr.Hartkins is truly a doctor sent from god himself . I have been to a few gynecologist for Endo, pain , heavy bleeding , hot flashes , moods bc of low hormones and no one listened or helped me the way he did . I wish I could tell everyone woman around the world suffering with female symptoms/issues about him, so they too would not hurt or be in discomfort any longer . He performed two surgeries on me and his incisions that he closed up from the robot are so perfectly done . He takes pride in his work and helping us women.

Dr. Harkins is the Best, Love him and will refer everyone to him.

Dr. Harkins is a very competent physician and surgeon. I went to him for a second opinion and had all my records with me. He did not review my story with me or ask many questions. Shortly after coming in the room, he began to give me my surgical options. Since he never inquired about my symptoms or pain, I did not tell him. (The doctor who I saw before him did not ask either.) I suppose he treats different patients differently. After surgery, an office nurse called me about 8 days later to do the usual postop phone call. Other than that, there was no contact from Dr. Harkins. However, I did not have any complications. He gives his patients his email address so if have any problems, you can contact him. A followup visit was scheduled for 3 weeks after surgery. I wanted to leave this review because of all the reviews from people who talk about how Dr. Harkins called them and followed up with them. I went to him expecting the same but did not receive the same. It was… disappointing to me, so I want others to know that they may not receive any phone calls from Dr. Harkins. This is not any reflection on him as a physician; he is excellent. No better surgeon in the area for the kind of work he does. Just know he does not treat every patient the same.

Haven't heard back from my surgery yet to see results of surgery . Hope soon!

I have seen Dr. Harkins several times, he is an excellent physician, very knowledgeable and compassionate, completely different from another doctor who works for Hershey, Dr. Gerald Harkins is very good and well rounded, a real gentleman and a great doctor. I had two main surgeries with him and my experience was the very best. Thanks, Dr. Harkins!

Dr. Harkins is the BEST. He took time to explain my procedure -- with a drawing. Checked on me often while I was at the hospital. Followed up with phone calls to check on me -- months after. And, answered my numerous questions. Personable. Compassionate. And, easy to look at. Thanks Dr. H.

My impression of Dr. Harkins is that he is excellent in his surgical technique and knowledge, and excellent in his communication with and care for his patients. He removed my forever bleeding uterine polyps in a very timely manner, and gave me a lot of careful time and attention in office visits. We all know that this latter bit adds up to a lot more than just good bedside manner; it requires skill and compassion to listen and respond, and neither can be entirely faked. He seems to me to be the real thing, and I highly recommend him.

Wonderful surgeon! Words cannot not express my appreciation for this man. After going from one horrible physician to the next he is like a God send.He so very caring about his patients and I regret seeking another opnion (just to satisfy myslef), I should have just llistened to him from the get go!He is an AWESOME and WONDERFUL man who always makes himself available to his patients.

Dr Harkins performed lathroscopic surgery on me at the end of FEB 2010. The entire experience exceeded all my expectations. Every aspect - from appts to checking into the hospital.. all the staff, nurses, his surgical team - OUTSTANDING! I would not hesitate to refer him.

He did a hyterectomy that NEVER needed done!!!
