Dr. Gihan Nabil Abdel Razik, MD

In my 40-plus years of receiving mental health care, I've never encountered a psychiatrist as devoid of warmth and compassion as Dr. Razik. After an impatient stay at Lindner Center, I was referred to Dr. Rezik. I saw her, twice, and both appts were only booked for 15 min. At my 2nd appt, I asked Dr R. a question about a new med that she'd prescribed, which I had discussed with my long-term therapist, and her demeanor immediately changed. She became hostile, defensive, confrontational, and abrasive. She told me she could no longer treat me "because I had demonstrated a lack of trust in her," by discussing treatment with my psychologist. I was in shock, truly stunned and devastated, especially since I had had to wait 2 months, prior to being able to see her (and it was a 2-hr. drive, to her office, round trip). In hindsight, I regret not filing a formal complaint against her, with the medical board that holds her license but, at the time, I lacked both the emotional and physical stamina… to follow thru.

She is respectful and professional. Easy to talk to. And the meds she prescribed are working well for me. I felel she cares about me as a patient. I recommend her for anyone seeking professional help.

You will never get any help form DR Rizk. Look for another practice that will really Valuethe needs of a mental health issues. Trying to get an appointment is not easy at all. I hate this place !! Not even worse giving one star

dropping me as a patient because I didn't go for three months. does not give respect or care about the real problems. deeply hurt and more depressed. also not caring about real reasons and good advice to help the problems. example. he divorced you . he don't want to married anymore instead of advice or understanding feelings on what marriage meant to me . also i had 3 surgeries last year. 2 children passed away

She is good, but the practice keeps switching people that come and go so there is no consistency. If you have to see a therapist along with her, they leave at the drop of a hat. Not a good thing with psychiatric patients. She is a good doctor herself though and listens and gives her medical advice with listening to your own.

Dr. Gihan Razik lacks compassion, is unorganized, confused, and relies on assumptions to treat the comprehensive needs of the patient. If you are looking to co-partner with a physician... you will need much luck, and more than 8-minute office visits with Dr. Razik. Get your needs met by a physician who has an ear for their patients, and a heart for them too.
