Dr. Gloria Marianne Beim, MD

just now NEW Unfortunately, I cannot refer Dr. Beim. I had a surgery 15 years previous with dr Beim and it went well so I trusted her to fix my Achilles tendon. I am 2 1/2 years out of surgery and still have post traumatic stress disorder, as well as a massive scar that was caused by major oversight on her and her teams end. I ended up needing to have a second surgery with Dr. Beim to remove stitches that had been left in my body by her team. When Dr. Beim went into remove the stitches that had been left in by she and her team …her Team forgot to tell me to bring my support boot, bring my crutches and to not eat as I was having another real surgery. so they were not able to put me under as I had eaten, this was very poor communication. My post traumatic stress comes from me being awake and listening to the doctor and the nurses giggle and laugh about their lives while they cut into me like nothing was happening and I was just hanging out in their social hour. It was all very painful… and when they sent me home the pain was over the top and since they had not prepared me I didn’t even have my crutches. The unfortunate part about the second surgery was she missed three very important stitches that she was supposed to be taking out, which is why I had the second surgery, nobody ever counted the stitches going in nor the stitches coming out ( or if they had I wouldn’t have been in that situation) . Long story short after the second grueling surgery I ended up at a wound specialist in Dallas with staff infection as I had a major open would and unbeknownst to me I still had foreign objects in my wound. In Dallas I was put in enough compression that three stitches came out of my skin ( the ones Beim was supposed to take out while I was conscious and listening to she and her nurses laugh and chat in my 2nd surgery) The worst part was Dr. Beim tried to tell me all of my pain Was in my head and that maybe I needed mental therapy even tho I had an open wound for months . I was treated like It was all in my head. This is a classic example Of medical offices being too busy to give great care. I wasn’t going to write a review but I can’t hold back any longer. Thank god, I trusted my judgement as things felt so off after the second surgery and I made my way to a wound specialist in Dallas who found all the left behind stitches. If something doesn’t feel right. Keep searching for for 2nd opinions Especially when it comes to your health

My son had an accident while snowboarding and sustained a bad fracture of his clavicle in Colorado. I was in New York. Dr. Beim was on call for a small hospital emergency room in Gunnison. He ended up going to surgery to have a plate put in and the fracture repaired. Thank God she was there. She took the time to call me throughout the night every step of the way. She was knowledgeable about current surgical standards, a great communicator but mostly she was kind to my son. Her repair was excellent and my son was discharged after recovery. She is continuing his care/rehab. I felt we were blessed she was on call. Having your child across the country and hurt is devastating- she saw us both through the injury. She is the real deal- top shelf provider. Time will tell how he heals but she set him up for success. I recommend her without reservation. We are both so thankful for her skill, training, and her compassionate treatment of us both.

Prior to surgery I felt that Dr. Beim thought I was making up my shoulder pain, but I stayed with her as a surgeon. When I woke from surgery, the thing that was diagnosed wasn't fixed, but other things had been "fixed" ie. removed. I have had chronic post-operative pain for years and my shoulder is worse-off than before surgery. It is unlikely that my shoulder and quality of life will be normal again. Dr. Beim insists that she fixed my shoulder, nothing is wrong, and that any post-op problems are my fault. A friend had a similar experience with this surgeon and felt as if was being blamed for bad medical care. I would not recommend this surgeon to anyone.

Excellent surgeon, well-respected in community and profession. Accurate diagnosis with desired results after procedure. Very highly recommended.

Dr. Beim is highly regarded especially in Colorado. She provides world class care which is rare in rural areas. Her qualifications are impeccable and she is a great advocate for her patients. She does not practice the typical "15 minute medicine" that is found in urban practices. The surgery center at her clinic is top notch with staff which she has hand picked.

Pre-surgery Dr. Beim is excellent. The surgical experience was excellent. Post-surgery Dr. Beim lacks the ability to see any problems or admit that problems may exist. I was told the post-op problems I had were my own doing. The second opinion I received was that poorly placed, overly aggressive hardware was the major contributor to my problems. I would not recommend Dr. Beim.
