Dr. Gloria A. Salazar Cintora

I saw Dr. Gloria Salazar Cintora, MD at the UT Rheumatology Clinic at 6410 Fannin, Houston, Texas for year and two months. Dr. Gloria Salazar Cintora, first gives the impression as a caring concern doctor. But I saw Dr. Gloria Salazar Cintora, four times over a year and two months, she in summary did nothing. Dr. Gloria Salazar Cintora, ordered blood test every time I saw her, and she ordered X-Rays and told me that she thought I had inflammatory arthritis but did not know what type. Dr. Cintora acknowledge my obvious knotted crooked fingers. And every visit I told her how much I hurt in my hands, wrist, elbows, shoulders, back, neck, knees, and ankles. I have read a lot and I know how hard it is to diagnose inflammatory arthritis and to pin it down. But you do not let a patient just hang out in pain month after month with nothing to offer except hope. Just a note here - I do not take narcotic pain meds, and I made it clear I did not want pain meds. I needed a treatment plan for what… ever kind of arthritis I have. I had MRIs and X-Rays showing all the arthritis, and the blood test that show very high inflammation markers every time I had blood work. I also had a positive ANA. Dr. Gloria Salazar Cintora even ‘talked’ about putting me on a drug like Humira, or Humira itself. The last three times I saw the doctor she ‘TALKED’ about putting me on Biologic medication. Also I had to wait 4 months between visits because the clinic is apparently so very busy it is like a public non-paying health clinic and they have no appointments to give a paying individual with two insurance policies. The UT Rheumatology Clinic seems to be a strictly teaching clinic and seems just too busy, and too much of a public clinic to be concerned for the individual person. During the visits with Dr. Gloria Salazar Cintora, MD I got conflicting information, example - face to face she would tell me to take two pill of Meloxicam 15mg per day; but when I got to the pharmacy the instructions would say take one a day. Meloxicam did nothing! It was VERY confusing getting mixed messages every single time I went to an appointment. The doctor would also talk in terms of “we” - telling me we thing you have… and We think this or that. Always I left the appointment with the promise that NEXT TIME the clinic was going to “help” with the symptoms and put me on a medication that would make me feel better. I stupidly waited 4 months between visits, in pain with the expectation that at the next visit the doctor/clinic would make a decision about some treatment plan. Also during the visits the doctor would leave the room for 10 to 20 mins at a time two or three time during each visit. I discovered at the last visit that she was going to her supervisor to get information. You would think that a person that is suppose to have 10 years experience would not be so indecisive as to have to confer with her supervisor. I was paying to see a doctor who is graduated a specialist in her field. My insurance company and I was not paying for someone who does not have the ability to make a medical decision and is so indecisive as to string me along for months at a time. I had to give up on the UT Physicians Rheumatology Clinic, and Dr. Gloria Salazar Cintora, and am now trying to find some legitimate help.
