Dr. Gopika Nandini Are, MD

Please stay away from this doctor. She overcharged me multiple times for procedures that typically cost around $20-$50 for $400 on multiple occasions. She is clearly only concerned with money and doesn't care about patients. No one answers the phone when you call. Extremely unprofessional and one of the assistants screamed at me.

Told me the gestational sac on the ultrasound was just a cyst, even though all the other doctors had said it was definitely a sac. She claimed the medical report said cyst though. I recently requested to see the my medical records and it definitely said gestational sac and nothing about a cyst was mentioned! She literally gave me a panic attack over nothing! I really thought this was an ectopic pregnancy because of her. How this lady ever made it though medical school is beyond me! She has absolutely no business being any kind of doctor. Pregnant ladies I beg of you, stay as far away from Dr. Are and Garden OBGYN as you can! They only care about making money, not you or your baby. Please save yourself all the unnecessary stress this doctor and practice will give you (and yes, I have seen other doctors at this practice. Trust me, they're no better.). Dr. Are also lied in my report. She claimed to discuss prenatal vitamins with me, which she never did. Didn't even realize they were… necessary because she did not mention one word about them. Other practices actually prescribe them to you.

I went for an annual, but what I got was a fertility consulting. She basically told me bc of my age I’d have to consider adoption or egg freezing. I’m 36. I did not go in there that day even asking about pregnancy. I thought it was a little extreme that she seems to be pushing it on me. Not to mention I didn’t receive breast exam and I have a past of having a biopsy. Most women can have children well into there 40s. She basically had me never getting pregnant naturally. I’ll never go here again. Seems to be all about money

If I can give 5000 stars I would, Dr. Gopika Are is an amazing Doctor. She was vm very pleasant and she even goes out of her way to make sure all my questions and concerns are fully answered. She did an great job on my surgery. Dr. Are and her staff are definitely team players. They will accommodate you in every way possible. Thank you Dr. Are and Maria. I will book my next appointment very soon.

Dr Are did not bother to read my chart before coming into the room and was strictly focused on insisting I needed an ultrasound when I had one 3 days prior and had another scheduled in 2 days. I was there for a non stress test and to check my cervix, and have a normal healthy pregnancy aside from having gestational diabetes which I montior and control with my diet. She barely checked my cervix, did not bother to tell me if it had thinned at all, did not ask how my blood glucose has been, and only continued to tell me we had to do an ultrasound to check my fluids which were totally normal a few days earlier. She then stormed out of the room when she realized I would not be pressured into excessive testing without addressing what I was actually there for. Her attitude was extremely unprofessional and she had no viable reason for insisting on the ultrasound. I've seen other reviews which tell similar stories about her. All she cares about is money.

She was condescending and didn't even perform an exam. She was more concerned with being able to charge me for an ultrasound.

She knows what she's doing. excellent doctor.
