Dr Khouru has taken care of my girls for 11 years. He is the best .I only have good things to say about him

My daughter has been seeing Dr. Khoury since she was a year old. She is now 13. We went through several pediatricians in Bardstown prior to seeing him. None of them respected my wishes or concerns. Because I wasn’t a doctor, they talked down to me. Little did they know I too have a medical background. Dr. Khoury listens to my concerns and treats our family with respect. He always gives us options when he makes recommendations. When my daughter was hospitalized, Dr. Khoury drove to Louisville in the middle of the night to check on her. I have been able to get a hold of him after hours at all hours of the morning when my daughter was young. His bedside manner is different from some doctors, but once you get to know him, there’s no going anywhere else. He is very caring and only wants what is best for your child.

Not a nice guy. I read one of the post and says that he is direct and to the point and they like it?? That makes no sense to me you don’t want someone who is rude and upfront and not comforting. Would not recommend at all. Especially to children

he seemed great for the first few years - i'd switched from a Drs office that had been terrible and full of arrogance and talked to everyone like they were stupid and beneath him. This dr. was good with the kids, we were there for probably 8 years or so. he got upset about keeping the kids on the medications that previous dr. had him on it was for autism aggression behavior and those meds cannot be abruptly stopped i had to go to Communicare to continue that care and move to a pediatric neurologist eventually. it was great that there was usually no wait at all when the kids went and could be accommodated with a same day appointment sometimes within the hour.. The point came that after i'd remarried some years later my ex husband lost his job and current husband put kids on his insurance. i had to update the information on my daughter when i took her in a few months ago and the dr. seemed concerned and even a bit mad that the insurance carrier was the stepfather. Things went downhill… from there. and there were events where my younger daughter had severe asthma attacks at school and the nurse at school suggested a new Dr. since he was not willing to prescribe an inhaler for her to have at school without me having to pick her up and bring her home for a breathing treatment. He wanted her to see a specialist but wouldn't give a referral . If one of my kids had earache and fever , if there was too much wax in the ear to see he wouldn't clean them as he was concerned about the pain to the kid. i understand that however, if it was an infection i ended up back in the office a week or two later paying another co-pay. I wish this town had more choices , my kids are near aging out of pediatrician age thank goodness.

Dr. Khoury is blunt. He doesn't mince words, and if you're a Nervous Nelly he won't be the doctor for you. He's not soft and sweet. He isn't likely to chit-chat, or hold your hand and reassure you. He is, however, an excellent physician. He can be abrupt and to the point, but if you're a seasoned mom like me, you will love that. He is absolutely dedicated to his patients, calling me on evenings or weekends to give me my kids test results or check on them when they're sick. Not many doctors do that these days! He's told me many times that we should always call him first, day or night, and he can see our kiddos without us needing to take them to urgent care or the ER. How many doctors do you know that actually encourage you to call them anytime? He has always been thorough and proactive in their care, referring us to specialists for further evaluation when necessary. One thing I love is that when he does that, he doesn't just hand us off to the specialist - he pre-orders the tests… we need so that the specialist will have all the info they need in hand when we get there, saving us a ton of time and hassle. Dr. Khoury then follows up with that doctor and he always addresses it with me at the next visit. I can rest easy knowing that he always stays current on my kids' conditions, even if he isn't the one treating all of them. If a kid is sick, 9 times out of 10 I am told I can bring them straight in. Always the same day. We rarely wait more than a couple of minutes in the waiting room. Staff is always professional and friendly. I truly cannot think of a single complaint, and I'm incredibly thankful to have found a doctor whom I truly trust with the health and well-being of my most important people.

Dr. Khoury has overcharged me and my insurance company for services that were never performed. He has a poor bedside manner and wouldn't take my daughters complaints seriously. I took her to a specialist in which Dr. Khoury would not give me a referral in which the specialist found reasons to be concerned and how she is scheduled to have surgery.

This MD has poor billing practices and in my opinion tries to intimidate people in medical records release to new offices.

Our son is almost 4 and we've been going to Dr. Khoury for over a year. Dr. Khoury and his staff have never been anything less than cordial with us. We have never had to wait more than 5 mintues to be taken back to a room and the staff is very friendly and easy to get along with. Dr. Khoury has always been courteous, prompt and very thorough. Our son likes him and he's never been rough or intimidating to him or us, his parents, either one. Dr. Khoury encourages his patients to contact him at any time if they need anything and we have done so. He has responded promptly and courteously. Another thing we like about Dr. Khoury's office is that he does not take Passport, which he gets a lot of grief over. We like that fact though. It means his office is not overcrowded and we get prompt service. Our son had previously been to two other pediatricians in Bardstown and they were far less professional and courteous and the volume of patients was enormous. We also love Dr. Khoury for the fact… that he is thorough, yet does not believe in unecessary tests, medications or procedures. We think Dr. Khoury and his staff are tremendous and wouldn't change a thing.

The doctor at this office at first was very nice to my daughters and I. Once I filled out all of the required forms he informed me that because his practice was new he did not yet accept my husband's insurance, so I told him I would continue to go to my last doctor until he had time to become qualified. He insisted that I not do that and said that he would wave any charges and I would only have to pay the copay. After a month or so our insurance changed and I added my girls to my plan. The doctor said that he accepted my insurance and everything was okay. After a few more visits to his office my husband and I agreed that he was not the doctor for us. He was very rough and scared our younger daughter. We did not complain or fuss we simply moved to a new doctor who then requested our girls records. We then about two weeks later began receiving bills from his office for over 600 dollars. I called the billing service and the lady informed me that the doctor had called and had the charges… waived but then called back months later to have them reinstated. When I checked the date that he called was just days after we requested our records. To top it off he then refused to send our records to the new doctor and was so offensive to our new doctor that he refused to ever deal with him again. I then called him to ask what the deal was. He was extremely rude and would barely let me talk. H accused me of never paying copays and that was why he was billing me the 600 dollars again, but when I told him that I had my bank statements to prove I paid them he said well maybe I had paid them. So then I asked him why he called to have the charges taken off and then reinstated and he told me that he thought I was going to be a good customer and that when I moved to a new doctor he wanted my money. My husband and I have good credit and are very upset that a doctor would be able to make a verbal agreement and then be able to go back on his word just because we were unhappy with his service.
