Hadley Katharine Wesson, MD, MPH

Hadley Katharine Wesson is a general surgeon with the Johns Hopkins Department of Surgery, Division of Acute Care Surgery, practicing at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center. After receiving her BA from Brown University, Dr. Wesson received her MD from the University of Rochester, School of Medicine and Dentistry. She completed her surgical residency at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.She holds a Masters in Public Health from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in International Health through The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.As a general surgeon, Dr. Wesson has a broad experience encompassing both open and laparoscopic surgical techniques. Her research interests include improving systems-based delivery of care and a focus on quality improvement. Additionally, her research focuses on enhancing patients' understanding of …their surgery, with techniques aimed at improving the preparedness for and recovering from surgery. Her practice embraces the American College of Surgeon's Strong for Surgery and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery initiatives.She is the recipient of the "2017 Armstrong Award for Excellence in Quality and Safety" for her work in enhancing patient's surgical experience at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center. She is a member of the Distinguished Teaching Society of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, recognized for demonstrating the highest standards of excellence and clinical teaching. She currently serves as the President of the Professional Staff at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center and is the medical director of the Johns Hopkins Surgery Practice at Howard County.
