Dr. Hamid Sharfuddin Hamdi, MD

Hamid S. Hamdi, MD, a board-certified neurologist, has joined the neurology team at St. Joseph Medical Group. Dr. Hamdi is also board certified in neurorehabilitation. Before coming to Fort Wayne, Dr. Hamdi was a staff physician at the New York University Medical Center and Hospital for Joint Diseases and taught as a clinical assistant professor at the NYU School of Medicine. Prior to that, he worked at St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., and at the Lafayette Home Hospital and St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette, Ind. Dr. Hamdi completed his undergraduate studies at St. Patrick's College in Karachi, Pakistan, before earning a medical degree from Dow University of Health Sciences (formerly Dow Medical College) also in Karachi in 1985. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Lincoln Medical Center in Bronx, N.Y., in 1994, and he completed a residency in neurology at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, N.Y. in 1997, where he served as chief resident in neurology. He completed a fellowship in neurorehabilitation at NYU's Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute in 1999.
