Dr. Harold Burkhart, MD

Dr Harold Burkhart knows his purpose in life and his mission. I'm grateful for his clarity. A world class surgeon and team. The cardiac Intensive Care Unit was phenomenal, all of the staff at OU Children's Hospital were amazing and I'm very grateful to God that we have such a caring, knowledgeable and thoughtful pediatric cardiac program in Oklahoma. Our nurses were so intelligent, informative and sweet genuinely caring people. Amanda and Gracey were truly a blessing to have! Number one in the nation for a reason! Thank you and thank God!

Dr. Burkhart has done 3 open heart surgeries on my 4 year old daughter to correct aortic stenosis, the first one being done when she was only 3 days old. Her most recent surgery was to repair her aortic root and 2 mechanical valves. A straight to the point doctor that will not give you the run around. He is a very humble man. I have a friend who's son he operated on passed and he attended the funeral. To me that says a lot about the man he is and the surgeon. I cannot even begin to thank him for the years he has given me with my daughter that i would not have if not for him. If you have a child with a congenital heart or lung disease this is the man you want to at least get an opinion from. I would describe him as being one in a million, God bless.

Dr. Burkhart recently replaced my sons mitral valve. A week later, he is doing amazing. A very gifted surgeon.

He isn't terribly sociable, but that isn't a problem. He closed my child's VSD quickly and efficiently and we have a healthy child because of him and his wonderful team. They are outstanding.
