Highly knowledgable, compassionate. And great bedside manners!!!

Dr. Cain could not give any cause for my condition. I received no treatment at all. In fact, he only monitored my condition through monthly xrays, continually exposing me to unnecessary radiation, and insisted that if my condition returned the next logical course of action would be an exploratory surgery. In my opinion, hanging up your grandchildren's pictures and artwork does not replace bedside manner. A cheery enough person though he may be, as a medical professional he lacks on many levels. If you are considering Dr. Cain as your pulmonologist, prepare to be disappointed and proceed with caution. I now see a chiropractor (unusual, I know) and my condition is completely in control and I feel like a new person. No thanks whatsoever to Dr. Cain. It also took over five weeks to make an appointment with his office. I have never felt so frustrated with medical personnel. Wait time in the lobby was about ten minutes; however, he left me in the exam room for over an hour. I have nothing… positive to report about my experience with Dr. Cain and his staff.

I don't know who gave him good bedside manner scores, but his bedside manner is awful. Also, he never once tried to be more agressive in treating my COPD - just wanted to use pharmaceuticals. Dismissed most quesitons I had for him.

It was a while between making the appointment and getting in but once I got there, I hardly opened a magazine before I was called. Dr. Cain was very thorough and attentive.

I would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy! His staff is great, but he is not! He rushes you out of the room, does not listen to your complaints and may not see you when you ask. He treated me over the phone, through his phone nurse, more times than he saw me in his office. I did not even talk to him and he would send prescriptions into the pharmacy. He overloaded me with medications that I did not need, and will prescribe high doses of prednisone for an extended period of time. He would not listen to me when I would tell his nurse that the medications were not helping and I was getting worse, he just told his nurse what to say to me and kept upping the strength of the medications. When I refused to take anymore because they were not helping me, that I was getting worse and wanted to come in to see him, I had to wait three weeks. Before the three weeks were up, I was in the hospital with severe pulmonary embolisms and a large saddle emboli. They did not think I would live for… two days. I survived because of God. If you value your life, do not see this doctor!

Front desk staff overshadow positive experience with poor patient service - receptionist skills lacking. Curt conversation etc.
