Dr. Harshavadan J Vyas, MD

Dr. Cuss is the best Dr and most caring Dr in the world he delivered my first baby almost 20 years ago and delivered 5 more after that.. my youngest is 6...I would recommend him to every pregnant mom out there..keep going doc..you are a God send...

I love love love Dr. Vyas. He was my doctor before I was pregnant and when I told him I wanted to get pregnant he drew me out a chart showing me when to try to conceive. He is very friendly and patient. He answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable. Near the end of my pregnancy I was having contractions early and he had me in his office every week on a monitor to watch the contractions. He actually sat down next to me and watched the line jump. When we heard our sons heart beat for the 1st time he had my husband come closer so he could record the sound of our sons heart beat with his cell phone. He was wonderful during labor and delivery. He put me and my husband at ease with his calm attitude and fun personality. He was very prompt in the morning of my discharge and was at the hospital early to talk with me and discharge me but I had to wait all day for my sons pedi to come to the hospital to discharge him. I am in a hurry to have another baby because I do not anyone… other than Dr. Vyas to deliver my next baby! I can't say enough good things about Dr. Vyas!!!

Dr. Vyas has delivered almost every baby born in my family within the last 15 years. I am currently pregnant with my first child and he's amazing!

I have gone to Dr, V for almost 20 yrs. yes his english is sometimes hard to understand but he will always repeat anything I don't understand! When people on here say they went to him cause he was all they had to choose from is not so. there are many OBGYN Dr. in Ottawa and surounding area. You must have had to go to him cause he is the only one that will take "The Medical Card" you got free service and now you are complaining about it!

Those comments I read that said Dr. Vyas hurried out of the room shocks me completley. Dr. Vyas spends as much time with me as I need. This is my second pregnancy and he had been as wonderful as he was with the first. I am a worry wart so I have him paged frequently and he always returns my calls. He has even come into his office outside of scheduled hours so that I did not have to pay an extra ER bill. Also, with my first son we had the monitor on and the baby did not move as much as he would have liked so he turned on the sonogram machine to check everything out. When he was done he said Merry Christmas and did not charge for the extra sonogram. He his a wonderful patient man and a phenomonal doctor!!!

I'm so glad that the last two ladies had good experiences with Dr. Vyas. I DID NOT!! I saw Dr. Vyas for my first pregnancy because there were no other real options in Ottawa. His English is very poor which makes understanding him nearly impossible! I don't mind not being able to understand a gas station attendant but not being able to understand the doctor taking care of me and my baby is really a problem! He really did not spend anytime with me in the office either. He was in and out of the room in 2-3 minutes. Yes, you can always reach him but again, most of the time you cannot understand him! His office staff is not really that nice and his office literally looks like a trailer. I don't have to see my doctor in a five star hotel, but there is something to be said for being comfortable when you are in a situation as intimate and vulnerable as an OB/GYN visit.Ladies, PLEASE take my advice. There are lots of other really good OB/GYNs in Ottawa, see one of them! It really is… time for Dr. Vyas to retire.

Dr Vyas has been my doctor for the last 19 years. He has delivered all of my children. I had difficulties with my first born and had to have an emergency c-section and he was excellent..he explains everything. You can call him at any time and get the help/answers you need. He takes the time to answer all of your concerns..to those girls that said he had his hand on the door and always in a hurry..maybe you weren't asking any questions at the time..NEVER have I experienced the many years that I have been his patient

I have to say that the other comments I have seen here are nothing like my experience going to Dr. Vyas. In my experience he was nothing but kind and concerned with my well being and our mutual goal: for me to deliver a healthy baby. He was often a patient advocate for me and is the only doctor who told me I could call him anytime, even "at 3 a.m." if I needed to. He had me page him EVERYDAY for the six weeks after my positive pregnancy test to report my blood glucose levels and adjust my insulin--he took the calls himself. At the end, he saw me more frequently to keep those levels in check and to monitor the baby's size. He immediately took action and monitored me after a fall in my 6th month.He worked with me with all decisions and referred me when I needed another opinion. I never found him impatient, and often took the call himself if I called his office with a concern. I believe he made my difficult pregnancy much easier. After my c-section delivery, he managed my pain… well, and monitored me for signs of postpartum depressionEven though he is soft spoken and his accent is heavy, he is mindful of this and never got frustrated with me when I asked for him to repeat--which I did often if I didn't understand. Like with ANY doctor, you have to be assertive, direct, and honest and succinct to get your questions answered. Don't expect them to read your mind or to hang out and chit chat. It doesn't work that way ANYWHERE.

I initially saw Dr. Vyas becasue he was the only option in the area. I could barely understand his English and her spent no time with me. Ladies, son't waste your time, find another OB/GYN!

He did surgery on my friend and 2 days later her scare opened when she coughed. Hers intestines came out and she had to go back to surgery again to close her belly back up. He also was my doctor for my first pregnancy and he induced me too early because he was going out of the country. My baby is now delayed. BE CAREFUL GIRLS!!!!
