Dr. Howard Cabitt Mezer, MD

I consider Dr Mezer to be the best Ob/Gyn on the east coast. He is very knowledgeable and professional along with a wonderful bedside manner. Thanks to him I had a successful pregnancy after 14 years of trying.

I did not read the other reviews on here prior to going, but I wish I had. A few years ago, Dr. Mezer's office partner, whom I loved dearly, passed away, and I was refered to Dr. Mezer by him. On my first appointment with him, I was uncomfortable with the way he was touching me, and I kept questioning what he was doing. He would not respond, and just kept doing his thing, which was not normal. Like others, my breasts and private regions were massaged more than examined, and I did not care for it. But, I had cysts, and needed follow up care. Dr. Mezer said not to worry about the cysts, and despite reading my chart and noting my objections that a birth control pill did not work, he prescribed it again, only to have it fail, AGAIN. I felt like my questions, and my concerns were ignored, and I was violated. He even looks creepy. Anyway, in conclusion, I asked for a second opinion from another practice and was glad I did. The cysts had to be removed immediately, and, I've had no… regrets, as the replacement for Mezer brought in her partner who confirmed the diagnosis, and explained everything to me in great detail, without talking down to me. Plus, the office staff is wonderful at the new office, the hours are better, fees are less expensive, and they love giving samples!

I've enjoyed Dr. Mezer for years. I love his sense of humor, which he uses to put the patient at ease and to have a great day. When I had trouble getting pregnant, he handled the tests very well.

I went into see Dr.Mezer for a routine annual gyn visit...this was my first visit with him. I have had many gyn visits with other Doctors. During the breast exam, he pinched my nipples so hard that I thought I would jump off the table. Like I said, I have had many breast exams and never have I had any doctor squeeze my nipples but Mezer squeezed them really, really hard. After looking on the computer to see if this was normal, I found out that nipple squeezing is supposed to be gentle and any pain is considered inappropriate. The nurse was in the room and she knew how hard he pinched them. This was my first and last visit there. I just want you'all to know if this happens to you it is NOT routine.

I saw this Dr. several years ago and during an exam he made inappropriate comments to me about my choice of shall I say hairstyle below? I would not recommend him to anyone.

I consider him the best GYN in Greensboro! Very personable, always listens and returns calls.
