Dr. Humeyra Karacal, MD

I’ve been having issues with light sensitivity on and off for over a year. Initially, it was dismissed as having dry eyes- I was sent home with a steroid drop, some artificial tears, and told to try different contacts. The initial problem eventually resolved itself, only to show up later on again, which is where Dr.Karacal steps in. Her and her staff actually listened to my concerns, my issues, and made me feel like I was being heard. Dr.Karacal addressed my issue right away and wants to be involved with next steps in whatever is going on with me. I am soo grateful for her thorough exam, care, concern, and for truly listening to me.

Dr. Karacal left after she performed my cataract surgery. My eyes never healed. My eyesight is blur, many times I see doubles, and constantly having pain in my eye. Now I was told before covid, I need another procedure done, not knowing if my insurance is going to pay for that. Needless to say, I was not pleased with my surgery with Dr. Karacal.

I have had four or five ophthalmologist over my 75 years and none has been as caring and excellent of an specialist as Dr. Karacal. I normally do not recommend any resources, but she would be the exception. In a wonderful way, there is none like her.

I saw Dr. Karacal for two eye injuries on two separate occasions. She skillfully treated the injuries, then on both occasions, asked me to meet with her at her office for pre-follow-up visits so she could check the eyes daily. One of the pre-follow-ups was on a Sunday; the other on a major holiday. Treatment of this nature is very rare from a physician. She is skilled and thorough, personable and caring.

Dr. Karacal is very knowledgeable. She found out the problem missed by others. She was caring and personable. Looking forward to my next visit.

I am very happy to take time to thank Dr. Humeyra Karacal for her excellent care. My mother came from China and did cataract surgery on the right eye in China. She felt uncomfortable on it after came to USA, and she went to see her because I heard from our secretary that she did cantaract surgery by Dr. Karacal and it is very successful. Dr. Humeyra Karacal examed my mom's eyes very careful and prescribed some eye drops for her, and now my mom feels very well on the eyes. My mom said she will never forget her beautiful smile on her face. So I really appreciate Dr. Karacal's care for my mom! You are an excellent doctor!
