Dr. Ian Seiichi Ebesugawa, MD

If I could, I would give this Dr.s office ZERO stars. Do not plan to be seen in a convenient manner if you come here. I was told to arrive before my scheduled appointment. I did so, then proceeded to wait for 2 hours (in a cramped waiting area with several other women and women with children) before shown to an exam room. Once there I was instructed to remove clothing and wait for the doctor, naked in a freezing room. After about 20 minutes I put back on some clothing to stay warm. 10 minutes later the Dr. peaks in, sees that I'm not completely undressed, then shuts the door and moves to another patients room without ever addressing me. After being there for nearly 3 hours and NOT even being seen, I asked to file a complaint. Nothing was done about my concerns. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY. I Also noticed Several sanitation codes in violation. Ladies, please be critical and speak up for yourself if you feel you're not getting the safest or Best treatment for health and body!

Dr. E is great about taking time with you and not making you feel rushed. He'll answer any and all your questions thoroughly, HOWEVER, if you disagree with something he suggests he will be very defensive and upset. He does not give you benefits and risks of things he suggests. For example, with my first child he wanted to induce me and I kindly said I didn't want to be induced and he threatened me saying my baby could die. Now, with my second birth I told him I wanted to try a VBAC up in waimea and he got all defensive and upset again. When I mentioned he hadn't told me of the risks and benefits of either a VBAC or a repeat c-section he again tried to scare me with saying the baby could come out deformed or even die. He even told me that if I do that (go to waimea) he would dismiss me from his care. He was very defensive and rude. He did not take into consideration the way I felt or what I wanted. He simply tried to scare me into what he wanted me to do. Doctors should be giving us the… risks and benefits of all our options and letting us decide NOT trying to scare us into doing what's best for them by telling us guarded information. I will not be going back to him unfortunately. Also, out of all the staff I really only liked 1 nurse/office person and that's Jule(Julz?). The rest don't seem happy and aren't very friendly.

I've been his patient well over 15 years, from the very first visit I knew I would never switch! Yes wait time can be a pain but he is well worth the wait! He's never in a rush. He sees you in the examination room and also in his office after the exam and takes the time to answer ANY and ALL questions and will thoroughly explain verbally and even draw pictures for you to better understand. This is part of the reason why the wait is so long. He has the best bedside manner. He also delivered my 3 babies! If you need a great ObGyn I'm telling you he's the one!

Yes, Dr. E is definitely worth the wait - when he does his exams, it is for the most part painless. He has a soothing, quiet, bedside manner and is non-threatening. He takes the time to show he cares and doesn't rush. Now if only the wait time could be cut to a reasonable amount! Bring a book for sure!!!!

I've had him 6 years ago with my first child and now with my 2nd. Despite the wait and lack of seating he is great. He really cares and makes you feel very comfortable. I wouldnt have any other ob/gyn

Dr. Ebesugawa is worth the waiting periods. He is very thorough with every appointment, very patient, understands the patients concerns, takes each and evey concerns with care, no question asked is a dumb question, puts priority to those in dire emergencies (which is great if you are in severe pain or in labor) but overall, no patient is left out. His staff is amazing and very helpful. If it were not for Dr. EBesugawa, I would'be given birth on the mainland. He made me feel very we'll cared for.

I saw Dr. Ebesugawa maybe 1 to 2 times a week for years due to severe endometriosis back in the '90's... after moving to TX & being told crazy things & then even being told I needed a hysterectomy, I called & Dr. Ebesugawa called me back & gave me a second opinion on the phone as well as calming my anxiety, and letting me know he was there if I needed him....He was GREAT even after not seeing him in person for several years...He is always in my mind & will be appreciated for all he has done for me over the years He was my Dr.

I hear a lot of good things for this provider, but their office is very unorganize when it comes to seeing OB patient and GYN patient. There is no communication between provider and office staff when he is called to hospital and patient are left to wait for hours until he returns. Staff dont know the answer to when the provider will be back and the wait to be seen can take up to 2-3 hours. This office needs a serious make over from the front desk to the back office. They do not notify patient who are driving from afar to be seen for an appointment of the situation of the provider. OB appointments should be scheduled seperate from GYN appointments. More communication with provider and staff along with patient would make this office more effective and efficient along with patient satisfaction. This office also need to be educated more about how serious some of their pregnant women are and not take things lightly. This office does not provide face mask or hand santizer for patient who are… coughing or running a fever, which puts their pregnant women at risk of contacting illnesses. Again office manager/coordinator would best suit this office to make him a better provider along with his staff.
