Dr. Icelini Garcia-Sosa, MD

I think she needs a psychiatrist herself. Do not go to see her.

Dr. Sosa is a very supportive and efficient Doctor. She took out the time to listen and was very concerned . She delegently worked with me and was extremely patience. She did not past judgement and worked hard in trying to help me come up with solutions for my condition. She explored many options and paid attention to my personal needs. She encouraged me to do homework (that she assigned) to help me build cognitive behavioral skills that has helped me learn to control my condition better. She helped me gain more confidence and self esteem within myself. I truly miss her and find that anyone who is able to have her as a doctor should feel previlaged and blessed. She is one of those rare doctors that actually cares about her patients.

I have had my reservations about psychiatry in general and medication in particular. Now, I feel totally differently. Don't despair. There is hope out there.

Dr. Garcia-Sosa changed my life for the better, and continues to do so every time I see her. Talk about fantastic. Where oh where did she come from?

She was my doctor from 2010-2013. We were never able to establish a therapeutic alliance. Throughout these years in a few incidents she proved to be lacking in empathy and patient-client communication skills. Her communication style is authoritarian and leaves one with the impression that she thinks very little of the patient's opinion. It is very difficult for me to figure out what I got from this provider after three years of treatment. She works for the Floating Hospital, Long Island City, NY and my experience with the administrator was that if your account did not produce she was not interested in providing services even though they are a not-for-profit organization. My fee per visit was increased from $22 to $175 the day of the visit based on $361 weekly income. I was not allowed to see the doctor because of my inability to pay.

Ms. Garcia is absolutely one of worst persons and one of the worst doctors I have ever had the misfortune to meet.
