Dr. Itzhak C Haimovic, MD

Don't go here if you have other commitments. Naturally, this is doable for the bulk of his patients (70/above), but for anyone with work or other appointments, seeing him is a frustrating experience. He seems to have a complete disregard for patient's time and other commitments. Waited 4 hours, then I had enough and left. Other patients said this is how he runs every day. Then why continue to overbook patients to such a degree? Very unprofessional. Front desk staff is not helpful either: They give false wait time estimates (or they also don't understand the doctor's system). If they could at least give accurate estimates, we could plan accordingly, take work calls while waiting, reschedule subsequent appointments, etc. - instead they just always say "you're next". They also do not take phone calls, let alone emails. Very difficult scheduling process. I've had enough, unfortunately. I found a new neurologist and am referring my friends and family there as well.

worst doctor i have ever been to. after waiting 3 hours he did a procedure after asking me two questions and i have been in more pain than the original problem for two weeks since that. when i tried to get his opinion on my mri results i waited two hours in the exam room then left. i called and he couldn’t find the report - ( his assistant read it hours earlier) he never called me back and his staff was rude. i can’t imagine how he is still practicing

My 95 year old mother had to wait 15 minutes just to check in. Then they kept her waiting several hours to be seen. The staff is rude and disrespectful.

DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR. I have been a nurse and this doctor is dangerous. The medication he prescribed my husband for his height, weight and condition was inappropriate and in order for him to take the proper dosage would exceed the allowed amount of acetaminophen causing liver damage. This doctor is dangerous and I would not recommend him. I would give less than 1 star if that was possible

Dr. Haimovic is quite exceptional. When he enters the exam room, you know that you unequivocally have his total interest and attention. I was given a thorough neurological examination for about 45 minutes and was asked many questions. At the end of the session, Dr. Haimovic’s evaluation ruled out certain troubling thoughts of a physical nature that I feared. He ordered an MRI of 2 sections of my back the same day (Radiology is located just next door … very convenient) and the second MRI a few days later. Both times I was given the benefit of an immediate follow-up face to face session with him to discuss the results. Dr. Haimovic is dedicated, tireless, thorough, knowledgeable, competent and deeply comprehends both the physical and emotional needs that a patient has when they walk into his office. Be prepared to wait. No one is short changed … Dr. Haimovic puts in very long days … once you understand that each individual is paramountly important to this Physician and… witness his competence, most patients don’t mind the wait. If patience isn’t your virtue, it would probably be better to seek alternate competent care, however.

Scam fraud stay away from him phony test

I am a new patient of Dr. Haimovic. I was warned by many, many people on Facebook to be prepared to wait a very long time but it would be well worth it. I think he is one of the nicest, most thorough, caring doctors I have met in many years. He not only took the time to talk with me before the exam but spent a lot of time with me in the exam room as well. I have had several MRI's at his facility in the past week and other tests too, have a couple of more tests scheduled next week. I waited to see him yesterday (after my tests) and he was accommodating, thoroughly explained results and answered all questions. He told me next week, just wait for him after my tests and he'll see me quickly. What a great dr. Yes, he's worth the wait!! His staff was very nice too.

I HAVE A GENETIC DISORDER WHICH IS CALLED “ESSENTIAL TREMORS”. I HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THIS SINCE I HAVE BEEN IN MY TEENS, AND I CAME TO ACCEPT THIS AS NORMAL. MOST PEOPLE THAT I HAVE DEALT WITH DURING MY LIFE DID NOT RECOGNIZE A VERY MINOR TREMOR IN MY HANDS AS AN ISSUE. MY FATHER ALSO HAD THIS CONDITION; HE WAS A NEW YORK CITY POLICE OFFICER, AND HE HAD TO QUALIFY WITH HIS HAND GUN ON A YEARLY BASIS. IF HE GOT A GOOD SCORE HE COULD GET THREE (3) DAYS OFF, AND HE ALWAYS GOT THREE DAYS OFF. WHEN I WAS ABOUT SIXTY YEARS OLD MY CONDITION STARTED TO GET WORSE, AND ABOUT FOUR YEARS LATER I SOUGHT OUT MEDICAL ADVICE. I AM PRESENTLY PUSHING EIGHTY (80) YEARS YOUNG. AFTER BEING TREATED BY OTHER NEUROLOGISTS WHO TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD ACCEPT THE FACT THAT MY CONDITION WOULD CONTINUE TO WORSEN, AND I DECIDED TO SEE DOCTOR ITZHAK HAIMOVIC IN GREAT NECK ABOUT SIX YEARS AGO. DOCTOR HAIMOVIC SUGGESTED BOTOX INJECTIONS IN BOTH FOREARMS. I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING BOTOX INJECTIONS EVERY THREE MONTHS… EVER SINCE. I WILL ALWAYS HAVE ESSENTIAL TREMORS, BUT THE QUALITY OF MY LIFE HAS DRAMATICALLY IMPROVED WITH THE TREATMENTS FROM DOCTOR HAIMOVIC. OCCASIONALLY TODAY WHEN I AM EATING, WRITING, AND EVEN USING HAND TOOLS, I CAN ALMOST FORGET THAT I HAVE TREMORS.

Looking at some of these reviews I am taken back by anyone complaining about wait times for Dr. Haimovic. If you are in need of the best and most experienced Neurologist you'll have to understand, there is a wait. Knowing this, it shouldn't be a surprise. I have been a Patient of Dr. Haimovic for several years. He specializes in serious matters. Mine is and many people who seek him out are too. He is highly experienced, focused, thorough and compassionate. That being said, there is a demand and many other physicians know him and recommend him in New York. I am grateful to have found him as I could easily be with a decent Neurologist and not wait too long. For me, I don't want decent - good. I want the best. On another note, I find his staff to be very nice not only to me but to others. Again, they are busy people and Patients should respect that and be understanding. They always get the job done.
