Dr. James Steven Appelbaum, MD

Wondered if he actually knew why I was there, my history...Gave little info. Couldn't tell if he heard my question. Hope to avoid a next time

He is not well read- current in his field and shows no empathy for patients. Takes little time to explain anything.

I have never been to another Dr's office where you are seen so close to the time scheduled for your appointment.

I found Dr. Applebaum to be an outstanding physician. He was comforting and reassuring during an EMG procedure I had performed. He explained in detail exactly what he was doing and the purpose of each step. This is a kind and brilliant man. I suspect those whose experience varies from mine are misinterpreting his gentle humor as insensitivity. Not only would I visit with this physician again, but I'd absolutely recommend him to others.

Doctor Applebaum is the best neurologist I have had he has been my doctor for ten years he is a good listener he spends a lot of time with you and great bed side manners

My husband and I went to see Dr. Appelbaum because we could not understand the other doctor in the same practice. We experienced a very impersonal, intimidating visit. Very little eye contact was made. We wanted to understand the results from the brain MRI and EEG. No information was given about the results, He asked my husband some questions from the MMSE testing, and because of his blunt approach my husband did poorly. So he said he had moderate dementia. A second opinion from our Family Practice doctor was mild Alzheimer's.

Yes, his time is limited and a little abrupt; but he is most always ontime, accurate, responsive to questions. My father has Parkinson's Disease and Dr Applebaum has been very good to him.

If you want a doctor that doesn't listen to you and prescribes medication that makes you sicker than before you went to see him, then this is the guy to see. Wasted my money and time. Now I am going to try to get in to see a doctor who can actually help me.

SO MY DAD WENT IN TO SEE DR APPELBAUM AND FIRST WE WAITED FOREVER TO SEE HIM AND THEN WHEN HE CAME IN HE WAS VERY QUICK DIDN'T SPEND MUCH TIME WITH US AND SAID WELL WE THINK IT IS TGA(TRANSIENT GLOBAL AMNESIA)AND OBVIOUSLY YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT MAYO CLINIC SO YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS; THEN SAID TO MY DAD AFTER MY DAD SAID WELL I AM STILL DIZZY AND LIGHTHEADED " WELL WE ARE GOING TO KICK YOU OUT OF HERE NOW" SERIOUSLY WHAT THE HECK THAT ISN'T EVEN RIGHT!!!! MY DAD PAYS YOU THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO TELL US STUFF AND TAKE CARE OF HIM AND YOU JUST SAY WE ARE GOING TO KICK YOU OUT OF HERE! REAL PROFESSIONAL! I AM JUST REALLY NOT HAPPY NOR LIKE PROVIDENCE MEDICAL CENTER I THINK IT IS HORRIBLE AND THEY DON'T TREAT PEOPLE RIGHT; I AM PRAYING FOR MY DAD AND HOPE THAT NOTHING HAPPENS TO HIM BC OF THE LACK OF THIS HOSPITAL AND DR'S!!!

All I can say is that I would run from him like a lamb from a lion!
