I had great care while at New England Baptist . My sister who was a nurse for over 40 years recommended I go to New England Baptist and dr. Bono was recommended by a doctor in the hospital where she worked . very happy with my results 3 years later no pain still. I would highly recommend dr. Bono and New England Baptist.

Dr. Bono replaced both of my knees over an eleven month span. I had been in pain for about 15 years. I am now 99% pain free. I have found him to be open, friendly and caring. He is definitely not a "people" person but his skill as a surgeon has changed my life. Yes, he can be abrupt but I did not need my hand held--I needed my knees fixed and he did a fantastic job.

After being kept waiting for an hour and a half, I was told that I need a hip replacement, but I’m too fat for surgery and that if I lose 20 pounds, he will do me the favor of performing my surgery. Meanwhile, I am in excruciating pain. I’m otherwise healthy and swim 4x a week. He seemed surprised when I told him I was hyper mobile even though it is clearly written in my notes (that he obviously didn’t read). Was unfamiliar with anterior and anterior lateral approaches. Ultimately, a very uncaring and rude doctor. Did not apologize for being late and only interested in helping me if I lose weight (I’ve already lost some weight, but that was not good enough for him). I truly felt that he saw me as a disgusting ‘fat person’ and not a human being in pain.

After 6 yrs. I've never had any problems; I full range of motion and no pain. Dr. Bono had been recommended by others who had procedures done by him; he is a wonderful Dr. and I'm glad I had him replace my hip!Diagnosis, surgery and follow up were all professionally handled, by Dr. Bono, his staff and New England Baptist Hospital.

I had a severe accident in the 90s with over 22 fractures from the waist down. Since then I have had 10 or so corrective surgeries, all performed at NE Baptist. When it came time to have my knee replaced, my wife (Physical Therapist) did the research and selected Dr Bono. His expertise was the most critical for my issues. 8 months later I can tell you that he was the correct choice, I am doing well and looking forward to an active summer.
