Dr. James Gardner Avery, MD

I am one of those people who really dislikes going to the doctor, but Dr. Avery has such a calm demeanor that it makes me feel at ease. I have been a patient of Dr. Avery for many many years, he is an excellent communicator and I never feel like he does not care, I have been to many doctors that just go in do their check-list and they are out, Dr. Avery actually seats there and makes you feel like he knows you (even though I only see him for my annual checkups). One thing that I really like about Dr. Avery is that in all the years I have seen him he has never pushed any medication that was not necessary. I was at his office not too long ago and I felt perfectly safe with all the measures they are taking for Covid-19. Every chance I get I recommend Dr. Avery.!!

Dr. Avery has been my primary care physician for more than 10 years. He has always been well informed, caring and totally professional. It's always a pleasure to see him and he makes me feel he is almost a family member. When I need a specialist referral he always sends me to absolutely top notch colleagues. I would never consider changing doctors.

Dr. Avery is not only one of the better internists in town, but he also knows some of the best specialists in town for referrals when the medical issue is not something he can handle. he never seems to hurry a patient even when he is behind. His personal manner with we patients is warm and gracious, and the staff at his clinic are all polite, friendly, and helpful.

Excellent and caring Dr. I have been going to him 25 yr.s+. Great Dr. and I highly respect him and will continue as long as I am alive.

Horrible bedside manor. I wouldn't send anyone to him. He didn't address any of my concerns.

I was a patient of Dr. Avery for ten years. I ended up with a mishandled workman's comp claim in which I was fighting my employer (still am) to pay Dr. Avery's office for a visit I had since the company's service for my work injury was poor. At Dr. Avery's request I came to him for follow up. While fighting with the employer for payment (after I'd already paid for everything else out of my own pocket.) I owed his office 60 dollars. They sent me to a collection agency and so I paid the balance. I then called them about a serious medical issue (at 3:30pm) and they didn't call me back until the next day telling me to go to the hospital (which I was already admitted to) because I was on a "patient restricted list." I never receieved anything in writing telling me this. Everyone thought Albert Pujouls was just about the money, well so is Dr. Avery's office..I have since left him as a patient.

Dr. Avery is a very caring and empathetic doctor. He takes whatever time is needed to listen and answer questions of the patient. I have great faith in the expertise of Dr. Avery. Thank you.

Dr Avery struck me as a very approachable, intelligent and caring professional. I am glad to see that he is not one to overly rely on perscriptions and is open to a wide varity of approaches to my healthcare.
