Dr. James Gerard Jakowatz, MD

I was having a cancerous tumor removed with Dr Jakowatz. Since UCI Medial Center where I was having the surgery is a "teaching" hospital, I made Dr Jakowatz promise that he would remove my tumor HIMSELF and NOT the resident surgeon. Dr Jakowatz promised me he would perform the surgery. When I woke up, I found out that the Resident surgeon did the surgery and most importantly, made an error with my surgery. The Resident Surgeon cut through the side edge of the tumor and did NOT get clear margins. When he cut through the tumor, BILLIONS of tiny cancerous cells went into my blood stream. Within 3 months, I went from a stage 3 to a stage 4 cancer patient with cancer in my organs. Dr Jalowatz not keeping his promise to me cause his mistake and has jeopardize my life. Don't TRUST Dr Jakowatz with anything he says!

This man is the best Doctor ever. He is interested in his whole patient, so froendly and fun - you want him as a friend. Brilliant surgeon and lifesaver just another service he offers. I had( hopefully dont have still) melanoma. The dr found i had another cancer while treating me for melanoma and was so concerned and helpful. Hes the best. Simply the best

I've been seeing Dr. Jakowatz for nearly 14 years. I believe he saved my life and trust him to this day with my life. Diagnosed in my early 30s with melanoma,I was extremely frightened. His diagnostic skills and treatment advice are top-notch.He is simply the best and I will travel whatever distance to remain in his care.

I just had the great pleasure of speaking to Dr. Jakowatz about the technology he uses to detect melanoma. He is extremely versed in the latest advancements yet very down-to-earth in discussing the state of cancer medicine. He was brilliant and so respectful to me and my questions - now I can't imagine using any other doctor.

Certainly knows his stuff and how to get it for you to understand in layman's language. NO B.S.
