Dr. James Macek, MD

The worst PCP ever. Pompous attitude, argues with patients, rude, sarcastic and negative outlook. Always trying to make office visit fees. Simple bloodwork requires in-office visit -horrific bureaucracy bottleneck in the office staff. Hire a medical advocate if you choose this flunky.

You call and get a menu. Select make an appointment and you get a message you are in queue position 1. After a few seconds the call goes to voicemail and nobody calls you back. I Like Dr MacEk as a doctor but his staff are terrible. I also tried to book a telehealth appointment online and that didn’t work either.

Terrible staff takes calls and msgs to get an appointment and then you go to office and empty no patients. Plus he only has special days for certain appointments. Was in hospital and told to see him in a week. I called for appointment and was told he wants two weeks not one. Been my doctor for many years and still ask why?

Dr. Macek is one of the best doctors I have ever had. He is a good listener, is very empathetic and helpful, and never rushes me. He is definitely a problem solver! I highly recommend him.

I started using Dr. Macek as my PCP about 4 years ago, after my previous long-time PCP had his license revoked. Since then, it's been like a breath of fresh air... Dr. Macek is personable, straightforward, very knowledgeable, and courteous. I never feel rushed when at an appointment. His office staff is courteous, and I have never had to suffer long delays in getting an appointment. I would highly recommend him.

He misdiagnosed me and told me to get treatment done before even knowing the diagnosis. He ended up being incorrect about my situation and I now need to get imaging scans done. I ended up spending too much money over long term treatments which didn't work.

Very competant, very personable. Easy to talk with, is an excellent choice for a PCP. Only drawback is that you are stuck with using Steward Medical Group specialists for referrals.

Dr Macek has been my PCP for about 13 years now. During that time, I moved out of state, and upon my return to Massachusetts, landed near the Cape. I will still travel to see Dr. Macek. You seldom have to wait for your scheduled appointment time to see him, and when you're with him, he never makes the appointment feel rushed. He asks pointed follow-up questions, and is funny and kind. When referrals are needed, he always sends you out to top-notch, skilled specialists. I can't say enough about Dr Macek.

I have been a patient of Dr. Macek's since he began practicing in this area. He is kind, thorough, and has always provided an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment when necessary. You would be lucky to have him as your Doctor.

Over the years I had mentioned a pain that had bothered me to numerous primary physicians (I've moved around a bit), and Dr. Macek is the first to make what seemed like a logical diagnosis. He's been very personable and knowledgeable. Best Dr I've had since my pediatrician!
