Dr. James Michael Ronaldson, MD

Not my regular cardiologist thank God but he did see me while I was in the hospital. He's very rude and unprofessional. Didn't even bother to wash his hands when he came into my room and examined me. Nasty!

Dr. Ronaldson is the most caring, through cardiologist in Melbourne, he ordered an EKG and it proved that I did not need e, Never jumps the gun on treatment. He will always listen to your concerns. I switched to him after a bad experience with another doctor in Health First that wanted to do another surgery on me 2 months after triple bypass. After I switched to Dr. Ronaldson he order an EKG and it showed that I DID NOT need to have that surgery. My heart was functioning the way it should and now I'm 5 years past the bypass and no problems. Dr. Ronaldson is the best.

Fall 2018 I had fainting spells. During a heads-up tilt table test attended by Dr. Ronaldson, I passed out and had a 5-second heart stoppage. Ronaldson could not explain it but wanted to put a pacemaker in me. I said no. I was sure it was provoked by my no-salt diet and high-dose niacin supplementation I had just started. He talked me into having a loop recorder put in. The device monitors for out-of-range heart beating, a-fib etc and communicates nightly with a box that sends the data to the device monitoring folks at Gateway Medical. Six months later, I called Ronaldson's office and asked if I should come in for an appointment. The woman who answered said no. I didn't need to come in unless I was having issues plus they were monitoring me via the loop recorder - not to worry. A few weeks ago I called again and asked if I should come in for a yearly check-up. Once again, she said it was not necessary. I was being monitored. They would know if something was wrong. I said I felt… uneasy not knowing about this data and could I see it and she said to call the device monitoring folks and talk to them. I did. They said there was no account ever set up in my name. No one had been monitoring me for the entire year I'd had the device installed. I panicked first then became angry. I called Ronaldson's office back and the same woman said there must be some mistake, she would straighten it out and call me back. She didn't so I called her back. She said I should be getting a call from Bredikus - the doc that inserted the device. I didn't get a call so I called Bredikus. His office woman was surprised. She said Bredikus was not my cardiogist and she knew nothing about giving me a call. So I called Ronaldson back and left a panicked message. No answer. The next day I noticed the box my recorder transmits to wasn't working. I called the manufacturer in Minnesota - the device had been disabled and I had to mail it back. At this point I didn't know what to do but within a few days, the device monitoring folks at Gateway called. They said they wanted to try and pull the data from my recorder there in the office. I went down there and they got me right in and got the entire year's worth of data. Lucky for me all that drinking and dancing at Lou's Blues had no ill effects on my heart - there had been no anomalies. I'm guessing Ronaldson probably knows they could have pulled the data, but his office has never once called me for anything - let alone to apologize for not setting up my account or monitoring me. Gee - I'm sure glad I didn't let him put that pacemaker in me - and yeah . . . I got a new cardiologist.

I moved to Brevard County a few years ago from Tennessee. I have a Bjork-Shiley artificial valve and I started the task of finding a local cardiologist who was familiar with this type of valve and I found Dr. Ronaldson. He was/is straight forward and tells it like it is. He is caring and goes way beyond the boundaries. My valve is 37 years old, but it keeps on ticking and doing its job. I went to Dr. Ronaldson worried about my valve and asking whether or not I should have it replaced. He was very quick to tell me no and we'd cross that bridge if we ever came to it. Thank you Dr. Ronaldson for everything you do for me. I had my cardiologist in Tennessee for 30+years and developed a huge amount of trust in him. I've had you now for two years and I trust you with my life.

Dr Ronaldson was very courteous and explained things very good, my husband really like him .will definintely be his patient.

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Ronaldson. He is terse and a bit arrogant. He pressured me to agree to doing an exploratory procedure. I sought out a second opinion and found out the procedure was not necessary at this time. He's a bit quick on the trigger.
