Dr. James Walter Snead, MD

Got in on time. He listened to and understood my concerns and came up with a doable plan of action.

Dr. Snead was very informative, friendly, professional, and comprehensive when he reviewed the x-rays of my recently broken wrist. He was not afraid to refer me to another hand surgeon who was more adept at dealing with my type of injury. He made sure that he emailed and communicated with the other surgeon while I was still in the office to make sure that everything was set up with this doctor before I left Dr. Snead’s office. I really respect Dr. Snead for doing that, as well as for his advice as to the best treatment of this injury. I would highly recommend Dr. Snead and the staff at his Norwood office who are very friendly, pleasant, helpful, and sympathetic.

Dr.. Snead and his staff were great. I tore my rotator cuff completely. I was at physical Therapy already for an unrelated issue when I tore my rotator cuff and my p.t. recommended dr.. Snead and actually text him the day of my p.t. and dr.. Snead agreed to see my immediately. Dr.. Snead and staff set everything up and prior to my surgery, dr.. Snead sat with me and my wife and explained everything. After surgery, dr.. Snead came out to the waiting room to speak with my wife about the successful surgery, he even had pictures to show. All in all, and now 6 weeks post OP, I feel good, and have had a great overall outcome. Pleasant, knowledgeable, patient, understanding. I will recommend dr.. Snead for his expertise. 5 star in my book.

After bringing a mattress up stairs I had pain in my shoulder a couple of days later. I waited a few months hoping it would go away but it only got worse. Dr Snead ordered an MRI and found it was a partial rotator cuff tear. Because I had waited so long there were adhesions hampering range of motion and causing the pain. He performed a “shoulder manipulation” under anesthesia to break up the adhesions. Although I now have to go to PT for several weeks to ensure continued success I now have full range of motion. Dr Snead explained everything in clear terms and was very professional and caring. He followed up the day after the procedure to answer any additional concerns. I highly recommend him to anyone that may have similar issues.

I am surprised to see some of these ratings. I brought my daughter to see Dr. Snead, after a closer practice, could not fit her in. He and his staff were courteous, timely and she was well cared for. Our MRI was ordered quickly and we were working on the plan to heal. My daughter has a new issue and I opted to go back to the practice close to my home, to save on travel time. It has been a mess and I should have gone back to Dr. Snead in the first place. Calling today to get her an appointment. Additionally, when we saw Dr. Snead for the knee, he provided great education and expectation for my daughter to help improve her own strength/conditioning (injury prevention).

Most unethical and unprofessional. Only cares about money. Avoid this guy.

Dr. Snead was more interested in sending me back to work than fixing what was wrong. He told me my knee would heal with pt, and tried to give me a note to return to work. He said to get a second opinion if I want, but they would tell me the same thing. Well, they didn't! I was diagnosed with a torn Meniscus, as well as cartilage damage. They scheduled me for Arthroscopic surgery, which I just had today...no thanks to Dr. Snead! He didn't care that I was in horrible pain! Thank God I got that second opinion!

Don't bother this guy was in such a rush to pusH his corcorticosteroids. Its not funny no bedside manner, going back for my mri. And gettin second opinion,should have asked for it befor i left

I went to him for knee pain. He told me to lose weight. (I'm not obese) Even if I were, my other knee was not hurting. I asked for at least a cortisone shot. He messed that up. My knee blew up three times it's size. I was in so much more pain for 3 days. I went to another doctor and found out I had a torn meniscus. Had arthroscopic surgery and I feel great. Also, I had to wait for over an hour before I was even brought into the exam room. My time is precious too. Don't bother with this one .
