Dr. Eric John Woodard, MD

Dr. Woodard is known for repairing failed spinal surgeries, and accepting complex cases. For several years he was listed in BEST SURGEONS IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA(neurosurgery). He repaired three of my failed lumbar surgeries. The previous surgeon had built kyphosis into the spine. Dr. Woodard corrected it to 90% lordosis. His surgeries to correct what was previously done gave me back full control of my bowels and the ability to walk without excruciating pain. - Office was efficient and friendly - Calls were returned - Dr. Woodard was kind and thorough. I only went to Dr. Woodard after conservative treatment (PT and epidural cortisone) by the other doctors at the Spine Center over several years stopped working. Its difficult to get in to see him but once I did, he knew exactly what had to be done. He did a 3 level laminectomy without fusion for severe spinal stenosis. I was in pretty good physical condition when I went in, so the results reflected it. Surgery was done as an outpatient procedure. I only needed one pain pill on the first day, after that only Tylenol. He wanted me to do only walking-as much as I could do-for 6 weeks. I walked 175 miles in those 6 weeks and was back to playing sports after 6 weeks feeling 100% after 3 months.

In addition to waiting more than one hour for each scheduled appointment, Woodard was oblivious about the inconvenience, inconsiderate of my pain, and unaware of my condition; though he previously saw me and recommended tests. He didn't have the results of the tests for which he scheduled my appointment... I wouldn't trust him with my spine or recommend him to another. Find a doctor who has a modicum of care for others.

I had my second surgery done by Dr Woodard on Dec 6, 2018 with very positive results, an L4 L5 fusion and an L5 S1 TLIF. Not only is Dr Woodard an exceptional surgeon but also a caring person who listens to his patients. Consider your very fortunate to be under his care!

From the beginning my husband and I had complete faith in Dr. Woodard. His staff was great all the girls, His P.A. Cody is the best. They answered all my questions and always got back to me. I had years of horrific pain. Now even this soon I can sleep threw the night. Dr. Woodard is my hero and my husbands. my new life has begun. Dr. Eric Woodward is a no nonsense type of personality. He has a job to do and is very capable of getting it done. With his busy schedule, he does not have time for small talk, but will spend the time to answer any questions you may have. Following my first operation locally (in NY), my back problems worsened. I reached a point of only being able to stand or walk for 10 to 15 minutes and being in severe pain at that point I tried other local doctors, who were described as very good and the best in the area at back surgery. One highly recommended and well know locally, who said there was nothing he could do to repair my problems, and another said I should come back when I could no longer walk. Feeling I had to find someone to help me, I check with friends in Boston who said Dr. Woodard is highly recommended from a number of other doctors. At the time (2011) I had to wait 3 month to get scheduled in for a visit. Upon my visit, Dr. Woodward said he could fix most of my problems.… With his buy schedule, there was a 4 to 5 month wait for surgery. A month later, his office called with an opening within 30 days, which I accepted. After number of hours in the operating room and 5 days in the NEMH. I found myself out and walking again within a couple weeks, with no pain what so ever. 4 years ago, I thought my live was over and destined to be in pain. I can honestly say I have regained my life back and feel 15 years younger. (Operation was in 2011) Great staff, and great doctor. Have to believe he is one of the best, for Back Surgery.

This place is a surgery factory. It's unsurprising that my surgery failed.

I cannot put into words how much Dr Woodard and Dr Marcotte helped me regain my life again. After struggling for many years in pain and discomfort, I am now recovering nicely from their surgery. The staff is wonderful, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. I can not thank them all enough for changing my life! :))
