I met Dr. Lars Richardson about two years ago, and I give him 5 stars. Dr. Richardson changed my life by giving me the opportunity to walk normally again and live life fully without a permanent brace, while other doctors in Connecticut told me otherwise. Some of these doctors told me “you have no chance to reconstruct any ligament on your knee “,and they designed a permanent brace to wear for the rest of my life, as it would be too difficult and too dangerous to do another surgery to reconstruct. Dr. Richardson not only gave me hope, but he really did well on my surgery and made my case a success story. He reconstructed my ACL and PCL. Dr. Richardson did an arthrolysis of adhesions and a manipulation under anesthesia on my left knee after an initial surgery post knee dislocation (fx of tibial plateau and multiple ligaments ruptured/sprained). I only had a range of motion of 40 degrees 2-1/2 months after the initial trauma surgery and I now have 150 degrees!!! I literally cried after bending it in recovery. He allowed me to use the CPM machine longer than originally ordered and he thoroughly explained (with pictures) how they cleaned all the scarring out of my knee. I am considering having my ACL repaired, and I will definitely be using Dr. Richardson for this surgery as well. SUPER GRATEFUL WITH THE RESULTS!

I'm about 2 weeks post-ACL surgery now. It went so well; even at this early day, my recovery is much faster than I could have expected. Dr. Richardson readily answers questions in person and email and was flexible, within safety margins, about letting me do things I feel comfortable doing.

I rarely write reviews, but this one is well deserved. I am an Emergency Medicine Physician myself. I suffered severe, life threatening polytrauma while outside the US and have seen numerous doctors throughout a prolonged hospital course. It has been an eye opening experience to be on the other side as a patient. Dr Richardson has been a standout and I feel he is truly world class. He embodies all the essential qualities that make a great surgeon. He is the type of individual you want to see training future physicians - thoughtful, caring, very approachable, and extremely responsive. I had a large meniscal tear severely limiting range of motion that was expertly repaired. I was up and walking the next day with only limited discomfort and 1 week post-op I am extremely satisfied and the knee is doing great. Hopefully, I will not require his services again, but if I do, it will be with the upmost confidence in a successful outcome.

Long time patient of Dr. Lars Richardson for an assortment of knee and ankle injuries. Every review prior is spot on. He is to the point, compassionate, and very personable. Recent surgery experience with him went well and good with the follow up. He is worth the trip into Boston.

Dr. Richardson took me under his wing when no one else would. he was the only one who cared enough to help me. he has done 4 surgeries in my knee. He is by far the most caring,gentle, and skilled in new England. I would absolutely refer all my friends a family to him and his office. And believe me i have. since i met him in 2006 he is the only one i trust with my knees. his staff are just as welcoming i love them all.

I can not say enough about Dr.Larz Richardson to express my families graditude for his medical assistance. He has taken care of my father, myself, my daughter, my two sisters, my neice. He is not quick to want to do surgery, he prefers to assist the body in healing prior to going the last choice.

Worst experience in an doctor's office that I've ever endured. Avoid!

Dr. Richardson is the best orthopaedic doctor around, period. His diagnostic skills are incredible and he operated on my knee 2 years ago and it never felt better! I have gotten back on skates and skis and I am indebted to this fine man. I wish I could give him 5 stars!!Thanks again, Doc!

Every experience I have had with Dr. Richardson has been a great one! He is an exceptional doctor, and really cares about his patients. He tries to get to know he patients, and I have really begun to have a great relationship with him. He is always there for his patients and would recommend him to anyone!
